Ink, some graphite and charcoal on paper. Robert Johnson was truly the grandfather of blues. Inspiring such musicians as Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones. His music has deeply affected my love for blues and music in general. My portrait of Robert is a small tribute to the amazing body of work he produced. Through every layer of pencil and every stroke of my hand, I tried to capture the essence of Mr. Johnson onto paper. I depicted every detail in my portrait, from the old curtain hung behind him to the design on the blanket he sits on. Each pinstripe was painstakingly reproduced as well as the weathering on his guitar. My desired end result is that you will feel like you are looking at an aged photo of Robert Johnson. I believe when you truly study this piece you will hear his music and see the richness of his character portrayed in through my pencils. Some people throw them stones while they are dressed like that… some people do throw them stones or spit on them when they uncover their faces…. Featured on Red Bubble Home Page on Mothers day 2009 this is my mom… and that is you know who.. her great grand child :))))))))))))) on the cruise to Mexico.. the amazing thing is that this is one in a series of the sweetest looks and hugs between them.. we were entertained and were just awwwwwing.. it was so spontaneous and sweet. / and!! this is one of my faves. it makes it double extra special because it was the day of my moms birthday of 83 years in 2007.. which is why we went on a cruise . all of us sisters. were there. and she got to go to the place of her dream since childhood.. OK…I admit it….I am completely obsessed with this old chair….. I just wanted to let you know that I will be posting more pictures of it…at least until my obsession is satisfied….or the chair falls apart. I figure, if I am going to lug it all over the country side I have to at least post pictures of it to make it worthwhile….....I just hope you’ll come along for the ride. If you’re really keen I have more versions on another site

Found this old moss covered VW Bug amongst the woods in rural Pennsylvania. It looks like it has been resting here for years, yet it still is smiling. When viewed in Large, it almost has a 3-D effect like Kevin pointed out. Herman is in this shot as well …..
