This is the first time I’ve tried a long exposure shot seriously. My last tries were for half a second during the day time. The silhouette was a man who walked into the shot less than a second before I pressed the shutter and then, miraculously, stayed absolutely still for the 4 seconds (when I say ‘long exposure’, it wasnt THAT long…but i still wanted the wheel to have visible spokes.) and then immediately after it had finished taking, disappeared into the crowds. Weird… The photo was taken in London, at the end of the London Boat Race. This image is used as the Experimental group logo for profiles. Oh, and Jonny watched.

A fiery orange and yellow sunrise dawns over Udaipur’s royal palace. In the sky, the dust of thousands of cook fires, auto exhaust and the movement of uncountable beings creates intensely orange sunrises and sunsets in Udaipur. Photographed in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Canon 40D with a Tamron 28-75mm lens, handheld. November, 2007
this lonely tree on the hill has captivated and fascinated me for some time now … on this particular day I happened to be at the right place at the right time (with camera! ) ...
