This is a composite of two of my photographs taken on the beautiful and luxurious Black Sands of Hamoa Beach / Hana Maui Hawai’i Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved “I the human wander lone in wonder amid this grand universe of unbounded space and time You the great keeper of universe / Exist in its infinite wonders / Lone in silence / In the grand home of your own being! Through the limitless lands and times / Through the uncountable stars / You are gazing at me. I look up towards thee! / All noise ceased in silence / All worlds absorbed in deep peace / Alone / You are! / Alone / I am / within, fearless!” ~ Poetry and Songs by Rabindranath Tagore’ Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi

During this past week, unimaginable waves came crashing into the north shores of the Hawaiian islands. The surf was windy, and messy, and disorganized—not ridable for the great watermen of Hawaii. I happened to be in Sunset Beach, Oahu during the storm, and the sun only peeked through the clouds a couple of times, briefly. I was waiting. Here is my image.

Death-like sparks burn cold and hard / A symphony of sea salt soldiers / Shaping their invasion on awaiting land Leaping from splashes / Grasping for oxygen / A rush to do battle come the day, come the time Roaring to shore in spectacular voice / To crush the life from a million weeping pebbles / As they pray for forgiveness / Down on bended knee / Begging for second chances And all the while / Eyes peer from deep forbidden sea / For a slender gaze at the battle afoot / Gossiping like fishwives over sips of milky tea / As they twitch through heavy net curtains / And tut tut tut at the youth of today Then scuttle away / Chasing the tails of those who fled first / As the wounded and fallen lay still behind Time to draw a new breath whilst plans are redrawn / And commence another charge toward the quivering shore —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Location: Auchmithie, Angus, Scotland © Donald Cameron 2009 / Monophotography.co.uk
Vertorama taken in Blankenberge (Belgium) on a stormy afternoon walk on the Pier.
Like some watch tower of ancient times, this stack in Marsden Bay in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, just caught a fast moving spot light of the sun through the clouds. The broken rock and pebbles on the shore seemed to be mirrored by the clouds as they raced over. Converted into pinhole black and white to highlight the almost prehistoric feel to this bit of coast line Best viewed large.
