Golden Lion Tamarins from South America are classified as Endangered. / By 1965 numbers were so low that the Poco das Antas Reserve was established in 1975 in an attempt to protect them. Marwell Zoo is now part of the Tamarin Conservation Programme and several pairs from the zoo have been reintroduced to the wild near the Reserve and are breeding successfully. / Visit www.marwell.org.uk This, I think, is one of my best cutouts. I love the golden colour – these little fellas are just so full of life and energy – they are terrific fun to be around. I think one of these days I’ll have to spend a whole afternoon in their enclosure (it’s a walk through) and sit with a tripod. It’ll be interesting to see what they make of me!

I took a photo of an iris bloom that was wet and put it through a channel mixer and went black and white and then I did the selective color with the water drops in photoshop. This image has 307 views This image made the Homepage on October 9,2009 with black and purple. by parmiDifferent? My depiction of the mind of someone in personal struggle with society. The light and the dark, happy and sad, known and unknown. All of this moving with random thought processes, pop culture, gossip, media influence, culture clashes and a lot of the time, white noise to fill whatever silence is left. This is modern society. Confusing, confronting, intimidating and at times down right scary. Which way do we go? Title of this piece I have borrowed from one of my favourite songs: “..can I please have some silence. How about some space..“ / Mindcircus – Way Out West. City Of Melbourne Musuem. Not the one in Carlton, housing dinosaur bones and relics though. This is the nondescript one on Spring Street, in the old Treasury Building. It showcases the history of Melbourne as a city, from colonisation to today. This was taken in the vaults, underground. Which have been turned into an interactive journey through the gold rush days. This particular room had only a tv and light in it, both of modern look. The contrast grabbed my attention straight away. It had a spooky yet familiar effect on me. I didn’t know what to make of it, but I kept looking at it, unsure what to think or feel. Slight crop of original photo. Desaturated all and selectively coloured tv screen. Increased contrasted and brightness to achieve higher levels of mood.
