An abandoned Victorian Italianate style house (c.1880-90) in Annandale, an inner city suburb of Sydney. Sitting proudly in a corner position of this hip and happening suburb, it had once been loved and cared for – if you look closely, you can see that one of the previous owners, at some stage, installed an alarm – a measure sure to deter possible intruders. Today, some of the lacework is missing, the fence posts have deteriorated, the concrete probably has cancer, the garden is full of weeds, steps to the front door are missing…will nobody love it anymore?

Last Saturday in Sydney was cloudless… literally cloudless. This didn’t bode well for a planned evening of night photography. Never-the-less we headed up to the Blue Mtns and started shooting. While every where was cloudless for several hours…. almost on cue lovely scattered clouds came over us and helped make our night shooting really effective. Brent

Looking past the ruins of Sabratha in Libya towards what is now part of the modern Sabratha. The boats in the distance look like fishing boats but apparently have a checkered past of transporting illegal imigrants and slaves! / /

As I walked amongst the ruins of Leptis Magna, I kept thinking how amazing it must have been to see it in all its glory! And I wondered if the people of the time took this amazing place for granted as is often the case nowdays with all the wonderful things that nature (and human) has to offer? /
