An edit of a photo i took at Cape Otway Lighthouse just of Victoria’s Great Ocean Road in Australia a few months ago on the 28th of February 2008. HDR’d in Photomatix from one RAW file . Found a pic of some birds i took at Elwood Beach a while ago and added them in Photoshop. Some tweaking was also done in Lightroom including the black and white conversion and above is the end result. The Lighthouse is just one of many beautiful attractions in the Great Otway National Park. CAPE Otway Lightstation is the oldest, surviving lighthouse in mainland Australia. The light, which has been in continuous operation since 1848, is perched on towering sea cliffs where Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean collide. For thousands of immigrants, after many months at sea, Cape Otway was their first sight of land after leaving Europe. For those interested this is the original image: Click here for my other images of Victoria This is what it would look like as a medium mounted print with my details:

During my travels in six states in the past week, I finally landed in Durbin West Virginia, where I stayed with a friend of mine. This old coal steam engine depot is in her little historical town of Durbin. We finally got a chance to ride this train that soon will be reaching it’s centinial (100th) birthday in 2010. This engine is called The Durbin Rocket One of three coal steam engines actually running in the world. When we came to a short stop, I took advantage of shooting this (and yes, have quite a few shots while riding it) Something about the elderly gentleman looking at this engine remembering when he was a boy and rode trains like this enticed me to shoot it in black and white. This has not be converted, I changed settings on camera to shoot in BW, I will be adding more photos of my travels after I return from Texas this weekend. This was shot in SS priority, F-stop of 8.0, Exposure at 1/125, ISO of 400, Exposure Compensation at 0 / Best if viewed larger.

I have been neglecting my B&W work for a while, but just had to shoot this for that purpose, albeit with a little SC in it. This is the handrail for the Turf Locks Pub at the beginning of the Exeter Ship Canal, near Exminster, Devon. I love all the grooves in it, worn away through years of wear and tear, and also shaped by the weather. I wonder how many people have had their hand on this ? / What stories would it tell if it could talk ? Thank you for looking. / Hope you like it. Initially I used selective colouring to draw attention to the door at the top of the stairs. I decided to then use a bit of Radial Blur (Zoom) to enhance it a bit more. What do you think? Birds Of Prey Christmas Cards Night Scenes Landscape / Scenic

Time for another expression for my love of rain! The background is a 22in x 28in acrylic painting with slight alterations, mainly colour and blurring. The original contains 4 pink flowers, but they didn’t cut it so I photoshopped them out. The light effect is a result of the camera flash. The rain, child, and porch railing are photoshop.

These stairs were in Letchworth State Park….they were much prettier and easier going down. They do seem to fit right into the landscape, which is what my attraction was to them! I figured i better take the shot before i got to the next level(not out of breath yet!). / full view is best

An experiment.. which has come out rather well. Of my earlier work with perspective on railway lines.. it is off center so that the lines can continue to the horizon…..

I use to ride the train home on the weekends from college to get away every once in a while. While waiting for my ride, I took out my camera and captured the train while it was sitting there before returning to Miami.
