Lianne / wrote an amazing poem about the desert Desert Wanderings Are the rare oases enough to / sustain the desert nomad? / And where is the desert boundary – / would the journeyman perceive / its end, or like me, see Canaan / and think it only temporary respite – / can he see beauty where I see none, / sculpture where I see sand – / has he more praise for palm trees / than I for all of Canaan’s promise? Deserts are but dry expanses of the mind / the hypochondria boredom breeds, / unirrigated months, parched and barren / where there is naught to slake one’s thirst / and coolness only stones beneath one’s tongue, / monotonous thoughtscapes, uninspired / wishing for rivers, never neared mirages / and longings so undefined / that even prayer is sterile. What happens to dreams that die? / Are they reborn in other minds / nourished in more fertile ground – / do the sands that cover them / windshift / reviving them again, or are they / preserved, like dried straw flowers, / still rich in color / but sapless, too fragile now to grow?

Mr.Roland died two days after I took that picture,he was a realy good friend and I use to tease him a lot.He was blind but always recognised me because he knew my voice«Ah!....« Gigi de St-Hippolyte»he used to say , holding my hand.He never asked for much only to organised his meal in a way he could easily eat by himself and to give him his chaplet for the ceremony on sundays.A great person , very generous and smiling all the time. The worst part for him was not being able to go to the bathroom ,I think that idea killed him ,he was so proud. He died very peacefully with her daughter and son ,hand in hand .The hand you see in the picture is his son’s .Let’s say that if I wasn’t passionnate about my job I couldn’t do it . / 2900+ views / /

views: 2008 / favs: 54 My origami calendar I used tweezers to create the last few folds. The paper I folded with was about 15×15mm big. Basically I present the creator and the creation where the crane is framed by my fingers forming a circle. We can only understand size, fragility and significance when we compare two things. When we think, for example, how big the world is, we’re like tiny little specks of sand, or even atoms, to the eyes of a God holding the earth in his palm. / / For a better idea of scale: / / / I did not make this crane and take the picture with the description in my mind; but created it by instinct. Silence Lane / I love cemeteries. / For some people, cemeteries are places of dread. For me, they are places of wonderful quiet and peace. A place of resting, whatever your religion, if any. 5000+ Views / Favs: 61 / / / / My origami calendar / / Just one sheet makes a big difference; / One sheet that can make over 2000 cranes. / Each crane a step closer to a better world; / Each piece a step closer to peace. Each square in the grid paper is 5×5mm; and to be exact, there were 2028 full squares in the paper When I was in grade 5 our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. Sadako Sasaki was infected with leukemia. She spent her days folding cranes and making wishes upon them; wishing for her health and for a more peaceful world (the quote above is my writing inspired by the story of the thousand paper cranes). This concept was originally created in 2008, and photographed without a tripod. But now I have a tripod and decided to re-shoot this again and re-uploaded it on September 6, 2009. ART DEVELOPS… Lately how I view my work and others has been greatly influenced by a very experienced and talented artist. You could say because of the way my art has moved him I too have been moved. His eye and understanding for my work is something I believe is personal to him. I am honored. However, in listening to him and feeling some of what he conveys to me in his eloquent and precise language, I seem to feel parts of me that either lay dormant or were never quite developed as an artist, opening up. Some of the pieces he has gravitated towards and seems to enjoy are works that were created when I was figuratively speaking, being born again. This birthing took place when I finally decided to visit my brother in Kauai and get out of my home for a while, swim in the ocean upon rising and also before I slept at night. Before that I was pretty much resigned to staying as much as possible inside my home. In the months at home I discovered my art and my writing by just ‘doing’ it everyday. At least 10 hours per day I spent writing and creating art. This discipline is something I had desired all my life, but until I ‘lost it all’ so to speak, I never allowed myself the space nor the time to sit and write and do art on a daily basis. Well I do now. And I specifically asked the Universe to garner me a job where I could continue to at least have 4 solid days where working on art, writing and developing my communication skills as an artist were part of the deal. My belief in the Law of Attraction gets stronger every day as I got that job. Funny thing is when I started to write this piece, I started to write about what felt like death and some of the very low points I experienced in the past year. I kept deleting. I do not know if I will ever go extensively into that darkness as a means of conveying how to live NOW, but it has become more apparent for me that to start most of my work and conversation from where I am NOW.. feels so good. This writing today is a statement of appreciation for the NOW of my life and the people in it that seem to be a catalyst for my present day wonder and Joy. It is as if my work transforms daily right before my eyes as does work I have done in the past. I have taken the liberty of changing some of the titles of my work (past) that will allow me to use them in a more cohesive manner in the books I am working on. The Elevator Series.. How To Live Book One, is a collection of my Art, writings, and poems, but more important will contain short vignette/stories on what it is like to seek the answers to the big questions (at least the ones I asked in my lifetime) that living seems to create for us. From India to Alaska where I gutted fish for a living with the Natives, surviving on moose for the season (that I shot by the way) and coming round to this moment in time where I can honestly say Life has NEVER.. been Better!! I feel this journey has been an amazing one and well worth writing about. But it is where I am NOW that thrills me most. As I embrace the teachings of the Law of Attraction my life gets easier because I am truly learning .. ‘Ask and It is Given’. Much Love and Appreciation to my fellow Artist and friends. / Linaji / Xox Also in this piece early on I dedicated this to my Brother Erhan who is as vibrant and as loving as this work feels to me! / Erhan Passionate and Vibrant Man!! I took an original photo of an amazing flower from Kauai and started to add a bit of shadow.. then I saw the canoes.. He rides in a wave of passion so his ‘ride’ should be so too.. / Erhan.. you inspire and spread your joy every time you say ‘WOW’ or write us a bubble mail or tell us your story a little, your dreams of being all that you ARE BECOMMING.. here are your canoes to help guide you on this most amazing journey you are taking …and giving us all a peek into the life and the heART of Erhan OZBIYIK!!
Fell in deep like with Jake the Clydesdale on a visit to a working farm. He got bored after the carrots ran dry and wandered off in disgust. So, here he is, set free on a beach & processed with love. A tribute to all the pretty horses and the peace they breathe into our battered souls.
They were out on the same walk She saw buildings / He saw the sky She saw shadows / He saw the shadows of birds that fly She saw a crack / He saw a crevice She saw a hole / He saw a ditch She saw the homeless / He saw the rich She saw a rock / He saw a diamond When they got home they looked into each other’s eyes, / How shall we ever agree on this life at the same time? / They said all at once / Well… / She said / We must learn to revel in our differences / Lets go against society, / Every time I see differently or you do / Lets break out the champagne and the sweet meats / Every time one sees a problem.. Lets celebrate for the other / Every time one sees a solutions lets do it again … / Celebrate / Celebrate each other.. And then we will loose track of / Perfect timing cause every moment will be just perfect!! So they made a pact and they went for walks / When she saw buildings and he saw the sky they both / Were so happy for what the other was seeing it was like they were seeing EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE. / It was like it did not matter any more who saw what when or where; It just mattered that they were together. / And guess what? / THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER… TEE HEE / THE END Linaji 2009

But every time I see this one, I know it is the one piece that triggers the most emotion out of me. So, I’d love to submit my Pay It Forward to a wonderful British Artist L K Southward and her graphite pencil drawing called “This is your son”. Letting Art Go By:Linaji 2009 When I was 11 I used to cut school / Walk to the beach and pretend / I pretended I was loved / And I pretended I was beautiful I used to sit then on the sand / And pick up shells and use them as / A phone to my heart / Worried that I was not hearing Me! I did not know it then but / I wasn’t. I laid back and let tears roll down my cheeks / I laid back and heard the wind sweep across my belly / I laid back and shut my eyes to the bright new day / I laid back and dreamed I was loved / And light and gay… Sometimes when the weather was a mix of / Sun and clouds / And the smell of rain arose / I would get a feeling: / It had edges of smiles and tender pats on the backside / It had a feeling / I still get when I open my bed / And jump inside cause it is so cold / But I pull the covers over me and / Shiver shiver shiver / And laugh all the while I never asked anyone in the world if they do this / Or did. / But it feels exciting almost sexual and free.. And, alone on the beach with the wind sand and sea / I would feel this amazing loneliness that seemed to have / Jumped off from the shoulders of this expansive joy. / Like I just made something so beautiful / And had to let it go. That’s what I feel today / As I look at the strokes of love and the / Layers of light I just allowed into Being / Which for some damn reason, / Feels all at once beautiful / And all at once Lost. I seem to worry / Does that mean I lost a part of me? / Or / Have I released the latch? / The one that opens my heart / Once again, / To another realm of Creation
