“Autumn brings along a radiant tapestry of harvest crops. Walking along the many farm stands, I indulge myself in the sheer presence of these simple, yet unbelievably beautiful vegetables and fruits. Amidst glorious pumpkins in the colours of rainbow, gorgeous strawberries and glossy gourds, the exquisite patterns and colours of Indian Corn stand out. / / Piled casually upon each other in baskets, the corn ears make a delightful array of vibrant beauty. Gleaming like tiny jewels, each corn grain bears a distinctive colour. Golden hues, brown turning into copper, mauve turning into magenta, chartreuse, pink mixed with orange, pure white and pitch black. Each grain weaves a pattern meticulously designed. / / I find inspiration in the simple elements of Nature by discovering, in a closer approach, their elaborated forms, their patterns and intricacies, their sheer beauty. They teach me a lesson on survival, too. The colour of each Indian Corn grain is goverened by genes. The pigment may aid in the defense against diseases, hence, a wide array of colours in a single corn ear raises the chances of survival. / / As myriad colours happen in a single corn ear, each one is unique in its design. Like a miraculous tapestry, Indian Corn humbly offers its beauty to my delight “ / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. I would describe it as having strong design aspects. Matryoshka on Hols was born from my passion for vintage wooden dolls…I thought how cute it would be to dress her in some holiday gear, especially since Russia is usually a very cold place from what I hear…it’s nice to give her a break in a nice warm sunny climate such as Australia :D and and I’ve taken the liberty of giving her a bit of gypsy flair! Maybe she’ll like Australia and decide to stay here? / Maybe she’ll like wearing this bikini and buy some more in different colours? / Maybe she’ll pop up again somewhere when you least expect it, in a vivid array of daring colours! / or…maybe she’ll go home to Russia and we’ll see her in some traditional dress sometime? We’ll just have to wait n see! She could pop up anywhere, any time hehe

I have altered the image slightly digitally enhancing it, to grunge it up for tshirt fashionability and functionality My darling ‘Illiki’ was inspired by James Michener’s novel ‘Hawaii’ and the beautiful young hawaiian girl who is one of the charming characters early on in the story. I was completely swept away during the reading of this incredible novel, highly recommended reading :D Iliki is also available as a card

Created in 1995.. made with pen on formatted paper. I guess I’d call this modern art. Another one of my hobby art pieces. I was inspired a lot by listening to my favorite music and watching those art/music concept movies.. incl.. Pink Floyd The Wall, Labyrinth, Tommy, Clockwork Orange, Alice Thru The Looking Glass…just to name a few.

The clouds were starting to roll in. A storm was coming and i new i did not have much time. The light through the trees was warm and cast beautiful, long shadows across the steps. I was drawn into the scene. I set up my tripod and mounted my Olympus E-410. I new i wouldn’t capture everything with just one exposure. I took five, one stop apart from each other. Here is the result after processing with Photomatix.
