An old cattle yard near the Jackson Oilfield in South West Queensland. Still looks pretty good after many many years.
I was driving along side some of the many paddocks that frequent my area (the Hawkesbury area) when I came across this cow, the light seemed to be pretty decent and seeing as how the cow was a few metres away I decided it would be a good opportunity to test out my new 55-200mm lens.. / The cow just would not look at me (unusual for a cow) and then finally it decided to sneak a glance so I snapped the shutter and this was the result.. / Post processing involved adjusting the exposure, contrast and levels, and then applying a vignette and a monochrome filter. / I havent uploaded anything for quite some time so I decided to throw this image to the wind and see if it flies or crashes and burns.. / As per usual comments and critiquing are more than welcome, and thanks very much for taking a look! FIRST TIME PUBLISHED Watch this />http://www.ingetjetadros.comWhen I looked outside my restaurant in Broome I saw two cowboyheads sitting on the tables outside and I had a strong urge to make some photo’s. I spook to the two men they where from Fitzroy Crossing. They where watching a crowd of Indeginous Aboriginal men and women ‘hanging’ outside in the Plaza. They where waiting for the local liquorshop to open, In Fitzroy is now a ‘ban’ on alcohol, they told me, so Fitzroy Crossing is now a ‘dry’ Community Miss. / Broome, Western Australia. / Today I received an email stating; CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR IMAGE ‘TYPAN’ is one of 55 images from the PEOPLE & PLANET International Photo Competition. to be published in the 2009 People&Planet; Social Justice & Enviroment Diary, which will be published this month in Australia (2009). / We thought that your image was incredible, and it won from a pool of OVER 1000 images from 316 photographers from around the World! / All funds raised by the People&Planet diary go to Australia’s small non profit organisations which are working to promote social-justice and environmental substainability around the world. / / watched 802 times 7-11-09

The Mulga Snake Pseudechis australis (also commonly known as the King Brown) is not a brown snake at all, but a member of the Black Snake family. This species is venomous and should not be approached. As you can see in this image, he was starting to get a bit cranky about our presence seen by his ‘flattening’. It is one of the most common elapid species of western NSW. This one was found north of Wilcannia. This afternoon I went down to Desert Park here in Alice Springs and tried to get some shots of birds with the new 5D MKII. These guys are usually all hidden up in a corner of the aviary but with the high temperatures during the day time they come down to the lower branches to cool down. I snapped this one while I was working in the Australian outback about 7 hours north of Melbourne. / There was a mass storm that passed over us while working for a power company and out there the photo opp’s are almost endless. / The truck carries an old Southern cross drill rig used to bore the shaft for windmills. Due to the location it would never have been pracital to retrieve the rig or the truck, so here it lays. / I just wish it could tell it’s story

The Simpsons Gap area incorporates large areas of Mulga and is a major stronghold for over 40 rare plants. It forms part of the MacDonnell Ranges and is located on the Larapinta Trail. Orton effect applied The area is an important spiritual site to the Arrernte Aboriginal people, where several dreaming trails and stories cross.
The calendar Because I’m married to a cartographer, and worked in the survey/engineering/mapping industries for many years, images like this have always interested me. Somewhere in outback NSW on a flight from Brisbane to Adelaide. Out near Maude, I think. Shot with an infrared digital camera, and treated to look like Kodak Tri-X 400TX Pro.
