Diligently reading, and literary captured, / As I, with my foot on my book, observe / A soft beauty, that with a polite air, has raptured / My heart, and be graced my pen, for such I will never deserve. Silently with the scent of perfumed air, / And a slight pinch of luscious lips, / Her passionate determinism is more than I can bare. / Subtle tease, her face hidden, as past her face her hair slips. This is Hope my Lurcher, on a snowy febuary day in 2007, she wasn’t that keen on the weather but did oblige me with this quirky shot. I have another Lurcher called Grace as well as Rubicon and Renegade the Ferrets who complete the team, Hope has the nose for finding quarry and Grace has the speed to fill my freezer. Here are the two dogs playing in the snow.

One of the reasons I love Redbubble so much, is the inspiration that other artists give me. Some time ago my australian mate Michael Bermingham posted Old Yanchep Inn which to me is a timeless classic. Then Shelly Hiebert posted Sacred which is just a fantastic image. I always wanted to get a shot similar to both of those and digging through my archives back to 2007, I came across this image I took with my Nikon D50 in the Madison State Capitol building. A little HDR processing, converted to B&W, little noise reduction applied, some Dodge & Burn (which Kimberly Palmer first introduced me to) and this is what I came up with. Please also look at Michael’s and Shelly’s image, as well as Kimberly’s work.

Shot on the Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, Oklahoma. Big bushes with seed pods on the end. Early spring. Cloudy day… even sprinkled a few times. March 2009 Nikon D80 / Not altered. I was going through some old shots I had taken a while back and found this one..didn’t like it when I took it..but played around with it some and now I kinda like what I came up with..I never throw away a shot..you just never know what you can do with it in the future.. He felt it as soon as he walked in the house..THE EVIL..yet one look at his new brides face wiped that feeling away..she loved it, and all he wanted to do is please her, and please her he did when she turned to him with “I Love it” on her lips..he turned to the real estate agent and said “We’ll take it”...from that day his world was turned upside down..The voices started not long after moving day, telling him that “she was no good” his beautiful wife…convincing him he would be better without her..whispering those terrible things he should do to “Fix” her..Now he sits at the top of the stairs looking down at the bottom where she lays crumbled and not moving..flashes of remembrance coming in and out..her running with him on her heals, screaming for her to “come back”...her slipping..reaching for him, tumbling..and now all he can hear is the voices again..claiming him, he knows now he is forever here in this evil house..IN ITS GRIP..
