  • St. James’s Park, London, August 2007

  • I’d set out to find the Tate Modern thinking it was only a short walk from the station, little did i know the walk was much longer & along slightly stingy alleyways. Even as i kept looking over my shoulder I couldnt help but want to capture the moment. London (c) REO 2007

  • St Paul’s Cathedral is a common site on the way to work, always accompanied by the Millenium Bridge…....as it was always meant to lead the way there.

  • How could i miss this london calling contest. / Having been a resident of a borough of Laandin and having worked in Newburgh street which is right on top of Carnaby street, i’d be mad not to have a go at it. The idea – a suped-up Black Cab dragster, that should get you where you wanna go in no time. Also i was thinking of a apocalyptic ‘mad max’ future london and trying to create the street art and stencils that decorate Soho and other areas of oldie london town.

  • Copper Sulphate Seizure, by Roger Hiorns

  • City Hall by London Bridge, captured at night. Camera: Canon 400D / ISO: 100 / Shutter: 25s / Aperture: f11 Tried a different b&w conversion this time around – in Photoshop, selected Image > Calculations, selected the green channel for source 2 and soft light as the blending mode. See more of my work at Dan Biggins Photography.

  • London, Feb 2009 making change © 2009 Urban Umbra

  • ... how could I not photograph the London Eye … Canon EOS 450D 18-55mm kit lens

  • London

  • Two colors only. Working late in Black and white

  • Film photo of one of the stages of Changing of the Guard – London – desaturated and selective colouring applied Taken around 10 years ago, camera unknown – lost and forgotten

  • This is the classic winged “A” symbol on the hood on an old Austin, a black London cab. This was shot in pre-dawn light in May this year. The subtle nuances of light on the chrome “A” caught my eye – and then I realised I had a great reflection shot, along with the raindrops on the bonnet (“hood”, to some of you). I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/6 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm. Featured in 60’s GLORY, October 2009. 115-7182

  • I took a very similar panoramic shot a few months earlier but I only used a Gorilla grip tripod, big mistake the the last two frames were slightly blurred. I didn’t have enough time to retake the last two shots as the tide was coming in. So I went back for another try, this shot is the result. The tide was just going out so I knew I’d be o.k. this time. Maybe I’ll put the other one up someday. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 24mm, f/11, 10 sec, ISO 320. No filters used. My tripod held steady, this time thank god. I have to learn how to reduce noise in low light conditions. • Cliche, but I liked the perspective. / Like all of the photos taken in London involving transport, I had to wait for some time before there were few people in the shot. Canon EOS 40D / 10mm, F/3.5, 1/30sec, ISO-400 / Tripod: NO, Flash: NO

  • I am in awe of the vast and very beautiful countryside that makes up Scotland. It is a huge area of natural beauty where even the towns and cities are wonderful with amazing buildings, structures and even the lovely people living in them are so friendly. I, once again have forgotten where this shot was taken but it is in the Highlands of Scotland and as you can see is just BEAUTIFUL I believe the black and white processing, made in Photoshop Elements 7 has brought even more beauty and detail to the shot giving a dramatic feel to the open spaces. (It is just my opinion though) I wanted to call this photo A Scottish moment because that is what it was, a Scottish moment which was just one of so many we had the pleasure of experiencing while we were up there. I can tell you this; everywhere you go in the Highlands, you receive a Scottish moment. I want to thank you again for looking at my work and I do hope you have enjoyed this shot as much as I have? NIKON D60 DSLR / F-stop f/6.3 / Exposure time 1/1000 sec / ISO speed 100 / Focal length 26 mm on an 18 – 55 mm Nikon lens. / Exposure bias -1.3 step / Aperture Priority All the materials contained may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without my permission.
