North Avalon on a crisp Autumn morning, had the surfing community impressed… Canon 20D – 300mm
STALKING TIGER Slowly through the grass / The tiger stalked his prey / His movement long and languid / In the middle of the day / The sun was high and bright / As a vivid burning orb / His body moving slowly / Less heat there to absorb / Gazelles were moving fitfully / Around the waterhole / Nervous eyes were flitting wildly / As the world they did behold / A movement in the distance / And the animals did jump / The nerve ends all a jangling / Each one with quivering rump / Then like avenging angels / The tiger now does pounce / Gazelles are scattering wildly / With a death like spinning dance / And one of them is slower / No longer held at bay / The tiger now triumphant / As it finishes its prey Phil Sanders (aka Brummieboy) / 5/4/07 Thanks for the wonderful poem Phil!
Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. Thank you! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar. / For more products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store

This is a large piece. 80×42 in of oil on canvas. I love juxtaposing bright colors against deep black sections. Canvas is self-made. Created a tutorial for do-it-yourself large frame-makeing on my website if you are interested. Many other works there as well as this is my first redbubble post. B-)

just shy of 6 years worth… / (By the way I do not actually have giant hobbit feet, that’s just from the tilt of the camera) / 100% digital free as always.
This is part of 3 peices. Granted I orginally did the crop to make this picture alone, this became the idea: / The other two pieces are no longer uploaded to Redbubble, but if you are interested in them just drop me a note More Fractals by Karri Klawiter —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / This piece can be found in my Digital Abstract Calendar. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- For products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store /

African Elephant, treated in Photoshop Taken in Shimba Hills, Kenya Whilst on Safari in Kenya we stopped to watch this African Elephant. It was an old mirror, and silvered, and very tired. It was determined to cast no more reflections.
The Cheetah The fastest land animal in the world, the cheetah is a marvel of evolution. The cheetah’s slender, long-legged body is built for speed. Cheetahs are tan in color with black spots all over their bodies. They can also be distinguished from other big cats by their smaller size, spotted coats, small heads and ears and distinctive “tear stripes” that stretch from the corner of the eye to the side of the nose. Found mostly in open and partially open savannah, cheetahs rely on tall grasses for camouflage when hunting. They are diurnal (more active in the day) animals and hunt mostly during the late morning or early evening. Only half of the chases, which last from 20-60 seconds, are successful. Cheetahs knock their prey to the ground and kill with a suffocating bite to the neck. They must eat quickly before they lose the kills to other bigger or more aggressive carnivores. Cheetahs are also typically solitary animals. While males sometimes live with a small group of brothers from the same litter, females generally raise cubs by themselves for about a year. Height 2 ½ -3 feet at shoulders / Length 44-53 inches (tail length of 26-33 inches) / Weight 110-140 pounds Top Speed 70mph Lifespan 10-12 years Diet Gazelles, wildebeest calves, impalas and smaller hoofed animals Threats The cheetah’s future is uncertain due to a variety of threats. The biggest is habitat loss due to human encroachment. In addition, they often deal with declines in prey and conflicts with humans. There is also high cub mortality due to predation by carnivores like lions and hyenas that are in competition with the cheetah, as well as genetic inbreeding which leads to abnormalities. ””EYE CONTACT”” was featured in Eye Macros
