Bitterly cold day at the Cambridge lake NZ, just moments before the storm ….....

Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) with a pocket fuji finepix A500 (There is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) My first ever feature on the home page ages on 23rd April 2008 and what a party that was…LOL See also : ‘i am a rock’ and ‘LoL’ loch of the lowes

Alberta, Canada / March 2008 Inspired by comments from Stuart Chapman and Rhana Griffin on my last upload of this stunning setting, I decided to revisit this location… if only I could have actually revisited for real, but sadly only through my many pictures… This really was an expanse of breath taking scenery and I was more than happy to pull this one out of the bag…

They say that the grass is always greener on the other side… ...it may not be that easy to get to but well worth the effort! I’ve been trying to get to those greener pastures for a while now and yesterday its looks like I just found a gate! It’s not green but the future is definately looking brighter! 29.08.08 Taken on the road from Tofino to Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. British Columbia. March 2008.
