Gracie’s feral babies – found in an outbuilding just five weeks old. / Bibby, Angel and Felix (left to right). They were supposed to stay until they were tame enough to be rehomed… Needless to say – they are still here – six years later – along with their beautiful Mum, Gracie, and another four rescue kitties!

A friend got a sweet kitten and it fell asleep in my lap. This is my favorite picture of all the pictures I took of the kitten that day. Her name is Sheba.

I am a cat lover and this is my own version of a “quilt”, consisting 300 cats, each with their own expressions and styles. At the very beginning, my idea was to create a tessellating pattern of the head of a cat (similar to what M.C. Escher did in some of his works). I then thought, instead of making the cats look all the same and monotonous, why not making them fun to look at?

Gus, our resident feline, now 5 years old, only beats her up occasionally…instead of daily! Given a bit more time I think they will become the best of friends.
