This is Hope my Lurcher, on a snowy febuary day in 2007, she wasn’t that keen on the weather but did oblige me with this quirky shot. I have another Lurcher called Grace as well as Rubicon and Renegade the Ferrets who complete the team, Hope has the nose for finding quarry and Grace has the speed to fill my freezer. Here are the two dogs playing in the snow.

This is another of my award winning shots. The tittle is based on the myth of storks delivering babies.

The Tiger King is the first of three ‘up-close and personal’ Big Cat paintings in my “We Three Kings” series, the original was created in artist colour pencil on drafting film. The second in the series is the Lion King, which I have already completed, the third will be either a cheetah or a snow leopard…I havn’t yet decided which one it will be!

Thanks to Heather King for her great work on an image of mine! Here’s my (belated) turn with a cool photo of hers! Called ‘Chained to the Grave’, which is inspired by stories of vampires I’d read and heard as a kid. Particularly one a friend told me of a grave on the Isle of Man where a creature was literally chained into the grave from ages past. The blessed chains were removed one night by drunken kids having fun, and everyone joked about it – but no-one went out at night again until the grave was chained down again! I’ve long ago lost track of this friend (her world moved in different circles to mine regretably), but still remember the time I got to share with her.

I feel that the slightly vulnerable posture and gaze of the figure (who happens to be Tony himself) and the power and strength of the lion shows the vulnerability in all of us and yet the image is meant to inspire us all to rise above and to become one with the power and strength that the lion reminds us of. / /
