b&w version per request / original: / This was taken on my parent’s back porch on a Friday evening. Fridays are “family night” and generally the kids play outside but it was raining so my niece was watching the rain fall. I said her name and when she looked I took this photo. So that’s the story behind the title. :)

I’m not 100% sure what’s going on in this picture, but I have no doubt that spending his day in the house of a creepy old man wasn’t exactly the way this kid hoped things would turn out. There’s a story here, I’m just not exactly sure what it is.

One of the first street shots I ever took back in 1964 in the East End of London. This was before Playstations, and probably the only ‘toy’ these kids shared between them was a skipping rope. Old bomb sites still held a fascination though as a form of amusement and exploration, as can be seen here. It was taken using a Yashica Mat 120 film twin lens reflex camera that took me six months to save up for. I used Tri-X B/W film and printed on a hard grade of paper to get the punchy contrast, a characteristic of all my early B/W work. Eheh.. i hope no one’s too annoyed by me and my postings this week.. i’ve been away for a month, i mean!! that’s like being deprived of chocolate for a month!! O_O” So now, meet Schmoo, VECTORED!!! funny how i manage to redo this whole drawing in one night, with the scanned reference.. it’s like, i can just get the curves just how i want it to beeeeee…. hehehehehhehehe~ XD this is drawn in the same style as Frothie with lotsa lotsa lines!! 8D Warning: i just sketched Schmoo earlier in the morning.. it’ll be a Just for Laugh version.. but don’t worry, won’t upload it until i got Julian’s new look done.. he’s be tugging my tee all day..
