In the backstreets of Adelaide City i discovered these abondoned apartments which have their wooden doors covered by bolted corrugated iron.
This was a chance shot I took while sitting on the sofa in front of a sunny window while some ironing was being down to the side of me by my wife. The hissing of the steam couldn’t be ignored as neither could the look of the steam being forced from out into the warm Spring window light, so picked up my camera and grabbed a few shots, needless to say my wife was rolling her eyes while I was framing up lol
Yeah mum, it’s clean AND I ironed it!!

An abandoned Victorian Italianate style house (c.1880-90) in Annandale, an inner city suburb of Sydney. Sitting proudly in a corner position of this hip and happening suburb, it had once been loved and cared for – if you look closely, you can see that one of the previous owners, at some stage, installed an alarm – a measure sure to deter possible intruders. Today, some of the lacework is missing, the fence posts have deteriorated, the concrete probably has cancer, the garden is full of weeds, steps to the front door are missing…will nobody love it anymore?

Found this old iron while driving around the rural edges of our town. Believe it is a Ford from the 50’s. Seems in very good shape and ready to work. They don’t make them like this anymore! Processed as a HDR it would make a beautiful card or picture to hang on any wall. Photographer / Robert Berry / Nikon D80 18-135mm Nikkor Lense

Enlighten in a flash / Inspired by Iron Man-Black Sabbath Lyrics Has he lost his mind? / Can he see or is he blind? / Can he walk at all, / Or if he moves will he fall? / Is he alive or dead? / Has he thoughts within his head? / We’ll just pass him there / Why should we even care? He was turned to steel / In the great magnetic field / Where he traveled time / For the future of mankind Nobody wants him / He just stares at the world / Planning his vengeance / That he will soon unfold Now the time is here / For iron man to spread fear / Vengeance from the grave / Kills the people he once saved Nobody wants him / They just turn their heads / Nobody helps him / Now he has his revenge Heavy boots of lead / Fills his victims full of dread / Running as fast as they can / Iron man lives again! —-— Working with my emotions, fears and dreams, i use long exposure and lightsources like flashlights to really try to catch the ethereal energy in the moment of time. Sometimes I feel like I succeed in this. / Often i use this kind of “flashlight-images” in combination with other images to make a composite, to express what i need to express. Other times this kind of images is posted “unchanged”. What is important is that this is my way of working with my traumatized body and mind to understand and integrate this part of myself. / This is my way to become hole again in body and spirit. If my work in any way can inflict on an other being in a way that can create contemplation or healing, it is a true gift and blessing. For the Who Needs Colour for Beauty challenge, I believe this image says that life is too short not to laugh at yourself! I hope my last week of life involves a few laughs. News came out on the radio. “Australia’s husbands are the worst in the world for doing housework”. But the world should know that whatever housework Australian men commit to, they always complete it with a smile on their face and a sense of satisfaction. / This is entered in the “Personal Meaning” challenge and for me, this whole entire photo sums up my marriage! / Photographed with Nikon D70 and 28-80mm Lense (bottom of the range!)
