Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) (there is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) This was one of those freak photos, straight off my camera, the only thing i changed was the white balance and the original was in color!!!... i walked straight past this spot on the walking track and my friend pulled me up!!! Spider webs were every where, there was late afternoon fog that had nt lifted, sun was perfect, dead trees, it was all there!! 30 mins later when we walked past, the sun was too low and the fog had lifted and the web could hardly be seen!!! freaky…......right place…......right time…....hahahaha…

I went out today to get some shots and ended up walking up this rather steep sand hill (I could get fit if I keep this up). On the way back to the car I dropped my shutter release, but after backtracking for a while I finally found it. Thankfully, I didn’t have to climb this hill again to search for it.!!! / And to top that off, I almost sank in mud and nearly lost a shoe at another location…but that story is for another photo….
