Mr.Roland died two days after I took that picture,he was a realy good friend and I use to tease him a lot.He was blind but always recognised me because he knew my voice«Ah!....« Gigi de St-Hippolyte»he used to say , holding my hand.He never asked for much only to organised his meal in a way he could easily eat by himself and to give him his chaplet for the ceremony on sundays.A great person , very generous and smiling all the time.The worst part for him was not being able to go to the bathroom ,I think that idea killed him ,he was so proud.He died very peacefully with her daughter and son ,hand in hand .The hand you see in the picture is his son’s .Let’s say that if I wasn’t passionnate about my job I couldn’t do it . / /

Hand drawn A2 image on cartridge paper with a G-Tec C4 0.4 pen probably took about a year to do, but I don’t pay attention to the time or the drawing until it is nearly complete. Just been looking to buy some more pens and found out the drawn line is only 0.2mm! Featured in Works on Paper winner of the Patterns challenge in Finks in Ink

Each square in the grid paper is 5×5mm; and to be exact, there were 2028 full squares in the paper When I was in grade 5 our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. Sadako Sasaki was infected with leukemia. She spent her days folding cranes and making wishes upon them; wishing for her health and for a more peaceful world (the quote above is my writing inspired by the story of the thousand paper cranes). This concept was originally created in 2008, and photographed without a tripod. But now I have a tripod and decided to re-shoot this again and re-uploaded it on September 6, 2009. Well, I wanted to create a series that perhaps captured the essence of these things, in relation to human emotion. And so my Time series was born. I know in my heart what each of them means, but I did not name them anything specific, so that the viewer could make up their own mind as to the meaning of each piece. I think that is something unique to every individual. So…my heartfelt thanks for continuing to watch and support my artistic endeavors. It feeds the fire that burns and inspires. / Aimee

pencil embellished limited-edition print of pencil drawing “Heliotroped” / (The original drawing was done on standard white layout paper – in a spiral bound tablet – I had to draw it twice because as I went I smeared it and had to redefine the lines the second time out.) See if you can find the poem that was tucked into this print and then sent to me anonymously. Update: Aug. 2, 2009 / I finally located the entire poem today. It was on the back of a Klimt postcard given to me at the same time the print was. / Here it is: .......................................................................................................... “When I met her / she lived, / isolated, / on a narrow lane. She had a wrought-iron fence / with a black rose growing through the gate, / locking it. The rose was groomed beautifully. / The gate it seemed had been locked for years. She would say little about the gate. / But she seemed very proud of the rose. / Eventually, she accepted a gift from me. / The gift was a white seed. A white rose now grows, wild and resisting any grooming. Still, she regards the rose with fear and awe.” ..................................................................................................... pencil embellished limited-edition print of my pencil drawing Heliotroped This was also done for a benefit exhibition where it took Best of Show. I cut out a portion of a print of my drawing “Heliotroped” and wrapped it around the 12×12” block of plywood. Then I embellished heavily with more pencil work. Very fun. as with my other image when solitude is required… this image was taken near a house i used to live in… / this place way my favorite place to be alone i used to find myself wandering through the bush and way down at the bottom of the hill im the middle of victorian native bushland there stood an old pine tree that didnt quite fit… as it turned out this tree became quite known to me i used to find myself here often… / it was / “my place” / somewhere to be alone and just simply be…. featured in Sepia Only / top ten place in sepia-portraits challenge
