This is from a series I produced a few years ago in my homemade, primitive yet functional darkroom. Sadly, my enlarger now lives in the bottom of a cupboard :(
The iron lighthouse was built in 1871 and was originally located at the entrance to Ulladulla harbour. The first Lighthouse keeper was William Gambell, an ex-sea captain who lived with his wife and family in a slab house on the beach. The lighthouse was re-erected to Ulladulla’s south headland – Warden’s Head in 1889.
‘It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic, / Of all things physical and metaphysical, / Of all things human and all things super-human, / Of all true manifestations of the head, / Of the heart, of the soul, / That the life is recognizable in its expression, / That form ever follows function.’ Louis Sullivan Custom type. .....allow me to share with you my newest drawing I finished last night. / It’s one of a series of watercolour pencil pieces ( 42cm/60cm) which deal the beauty of the female form …..the theme of this series is all about human bodies and chairs . / Everything around us is made by colours, shapes and emotions. I just “steal ” the moments and “stop” them into a picture. I used bold colours and powerful lines, as I do in all my drawings and paintings. Hope you like what you see and many thanks for stopping by !
