“In hot summer afternoons, dragonflies dance in the warm air. Their acrobatic flight defies gravity. Mastering the power of obstacle avoidance, these active creatures like to rest atop flower stems. Yet, this dragonfly decided to rest on the ground. / / “Seemingly indifferent to my proximity, it remained motionless basking in the sun. I approached carefully to appreciate this beautiful individual. The delicate wing pattern is a masterful piece of art. / / “The turquoise and green colours of the dragonfly body gleam like jewels.” / / / =========================================================== / Few may be aware that Dragonflies in Massachussetts, USA are an endangered species listed in the U.S. Endangered Species Act (U.S. ESA). / / All proceeds from the sales of this image of a local Dragonfly will be donated to: / / Massachusetts Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / Carmen, creator of Art for Conservation

This is the second batik butterfly in my collection. I’d like to dedicate this image to Marianne Venegoni, a gifted photographer, who has been very ill and is trying to find her “wings” again. Marianne, may you scale even greater heights than before your illness! You can see Marianne’s impressive portfolio at photoeyes here on Redbubble.

It’s a real picture but it was blurry so I did some stuff to it and liked how it helped.

I have been wanting to create a series of photos based off of my photo Cloud Dancer / for quite a while now and got an opportunity to work with my friend Michael who is an excellent dancer. This is one of the shots we got from his shoot that I liked. This was not taken at the same location because I did not have access to my awesome black rehearsal hall. We shot this outside on a concrete porch at night and lit it so that the background would be black. I think it came out pretty well considering the circumstances.
I.m So lucky to have captured this moment in a garden in Restalrig,Edinburgh!

This mother sat alongside a jumble of goslings while her mate stood guard on the shore not very far from her. She seemed very content and dozed most of the time I was there but when she did open her eyes I was able to snag this shot! / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens / Laval-Ouest, Quebec CANADA
