Socialite and model Elizabeth Hooley. One of my shots showing my style during the 60’s. I have left the banner on in the hopes that this may be considered as a poster. Now it would hardly make a poster without some sort of blurb at the bottom would it!? © 1966 John Hooton Photography

A collaboration between myself and Adrian Carmody We both got to model and photograph each other. Our theme was based on 1940s Gangster / Film Noir. We sourced the props and costuming as best as we could and finally made a date to shoot this in the studio. 4 hours of role play, laughs and a bundle of photos to play with afterward! This image is also showcased in the 2009 calendar (click image to view the calendar) / Hilarious illustrated version.

2500+ views, 33 faves. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot and the sense of innocence. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. This shot was featured in the Urban Art Group, the Other Side of Italy and the I love Italy Group.

Well it was a very strange day shooting. Part of a series. This image was shot using a / mamiya 220 camera (6X6 medium format) and iLford black and white 120 roll film. / The original is hand printed by moi on Ilford Multigrade IV Fiber Based Paper.
I am not sure of the story behind the dog. It was either walking ( very slowly ) with its master. Or it was an abandoned old dog that was trying to tag along with the woman for company. This is a reworking of an older shot which I cropped to make this image . Picture was taken on a Mamiya 645 on ASA 100 film and image has not been altered. The pedestrian blur is because I used a one second exposure.

Sorry to upload another from my memory series. I am afraid over the next few days I shall be adding more as from next week I shall have little time to participate on redbubble as my course starts again. I am doing a course on alternative printing so hopefully will have something to upload. I apologise to for not being able to comment as much as I would like. I wasn’t going to say much about this image but I thought I would just paste in the reply I gave to Matt’s comment about it: A couple of weeks ago I went to my daughters school for a meeting – at the same time she had come out for playtime – I was watching her and witnessed a group of girls that kept running away from her – leaving her standing alone – in the end she stood there crying. I left the office and went outside to pick her up and comfort her – it was only then that the teacher noticed. When I was looking through my negs this afternoon I saw this one and it made me think of it .. There is an anti-bullying day at her school on friday .. they all have to wear blue .. i hope things improve but it does seem, sadly that the playground hasn’t changed that much. So yes, this is exactly what I was aiming for.
