Sales of this Design? – 9 sales so far :) / ‘Asia Series’ card by Karin Taylor A more serious piece this time. A painting inspired by the art form of the Geisha. Her discipline and strength I admire. I have used ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels to create Geisha Girl. The original painting is no longer available, but so glad she can come to you in the form of a greeting card. I hope you like her :D

b&w version per request / original: / This was taken on my parent’s back porch on a Friday evening. Fridays are “family night” and generally the kids play outside but it was raining so my niece was watching the rain fall. I said her name and when she looked I took this photo. So that’s the story behind the title. :)

What do you get when you put my bullet belt, my shecter, me in cheetah stilettos and fishnet and a 10 second timer? you get this motha licker / (haha, old gregg reference) like the common “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll” motto, i’ve put my interpritation on it. sex (the fishnets and stilettos) drugs (bullet belt) rock n’ roll (guitar) / now for the whole drugs thing, its a common thing among rock stars to be druggies or alcoholics, and the music scene i’m most into is the punk/ska scene, with one of the trademarks being the bullet belt (and my zebra guitar strap fits in nicely with it)

I was asked to take some photos very late into her pregancy. I arrived bright and early to be informed that she had started having contractions the evening before. Talk about cutting it close! I thought she did a fantasic job of looking calm and relaxed!

Ink on paper illustration. A sad, pretty, awkward girl atop a cliff. The work inspired a gorgeous piece of writing by Nicole Ryan called Dangling Ankles

Sales of this Design? – 5 sales so far :) / / “Shoes available at Zazzle”http://www.zazzle.com/karin_taylor_zazzle ’’Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor This dear little asian girl has stolen my heart! She’s so sweet and shy. She wears a traditional chinese costume with her feet slightly turned in. Flowers in her crazy ‘updo’ hair secured with a couple of chopsticks! Chinese Red Fan Girl stands before a warm glowing screen, patiently waiting for her little friend from Japan, ‘Little Blue Kimono’ to arrive. Chinese Red Fan Girl wears a pair of geta on her tootsies, a gift from ‘Little Blue’ The kanji symbols in the background on the screen translate into ‘One’s Dearest Wish’

/ “Now available as a LARGE print” Sales of this Design? – 1 sale so far :) / / Girl on Red Wall is from the ‘Asia Series’ of cards by Karin Taylor Girl on Red Wall is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper utilising ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic in the rendering. It was a fun piece that has been popular, the original has already been sold to a doctor in Queensland, and prints requested overseas. It’s funny, the paintings you don’t think will be popular, are the ones that receive the most interest sometimes. I have grown to love Girl on Red Wall very much, and would now like to share her with you
