Memories wrapped in stone and tree shadows. A place to reflect, and wonder about life. Drought Breaker As the farmer knelt down on the salty sand, / He needed rain to save his land. / The crops were wilting, the cattle all dead, / He looked around, not a word was said. The ground was dry, where is the rain? / What could stop this worthless pain? / The farmer cursed in sheer despair, / He did not have a drop to spare. A thundercloud covers the western sky, / A bolt of lightning explodes near by. / The farmer looks up and begins to pray, / Hoping that the rain will come his way. Then drip-by-drip it starts to fall, / The crystal water like a clear glass wall. / The trees and flowers all in bloom, / Then once again, gone is the gloom. Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The morning rush across the street from the train station and metro. Everyone jostling for space. I think it shows how hectic life can be in an Asian metropolis. / Today was my first try at using long exposures, and I felt that this was the best of the bunch from today. Any constructive criticism is welcome. I took this close-by to my home. !

A powerful and bold sky above the old section of the Millicent Cemetery. The work and effort put into the headstones in these days is a testament to the love, honour and memories of those passed and those left behind. Canon 400D, 3 shot HDR, converted in Photomatix and tones altered in Photoshop.

HERES THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO! okay, so I’m not really a religious person, at all. But I do work at a christian preschool so one day I passed these crosses by a church and the sun was behind me and I thought it would be a cool photo to take for my boss :) okay…so here’s the creepy part. I pulled this picture up today (6 months later) and decided to photoshop it and give it to my boss. Well….I only gave it a little more yellow for the sunset….I didn’t put the “EYE” in the top right hand corner of my photo! creepy eh? What you think?

Pretty easy manipulation. Loved the fact these two monks decided to go jaywalking… hehe. Taken on Macquarie Street outside the Sydney Eye Hospital looking down to Martin Place, Sydney CBD. Very nice day all in all.

Built around 1815 this church in the hills of Chimayo, New Mexico, is considered a masterpiece of colonial folk art and architecture and has been deemed a National Historic Landmark. Famed for its miraculous cross and the healing powers of the soil, the Prayer Room is filled with candles, cards & crude hand made shrines as well as crutches and braces testifying to miracles. Directly across the road they sell the best chili powder money can buy. /

This photo was taken at the Animal Welfare League in Wingfield, South Australia. No photoshop was used other than to alter the colours a bit. The puppy’s smile, although blurred due to depth of field (i was using a 50mm f/1.4 at 1.4 focussing only on her eyes) was real! This puppy was adopted shortly after.
