FUSIONartPHOTOGRAPHY.com Feature artist for the GROUP:EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY and EDITING. This creation is about my return to Melbourne after eight exciting and event filled years living in Japan and China . Regular trips home to see family and friends had not really prepared me for that emotional roller coaster ride that many experience after the conclusion of an overseas assignment. / Initially, when living in countries where the language is foreign ,one delves deep inside oneself and adjusts by becoming more observant to compensate. The experience is beyond description. / Upon returning home ones’ city has become a mystery. Eye contact/ a smile meant so very much in the re-adjustment period as after such a long period away ,one really belongs nowhere and maybe the heart will always now remain in 3 places and so we have “Mysterious Melbourne” / “ A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” / Essence of Ancient Wisdom/ Asia

Taken during Art in All of Us (www.artinallofus.org) activities last month in the island of St Kitts. The AiA Awareness Program (http://www.artinallofus.org/about-us/programs.html) introduces multicultural exchanges and knowledge during visits into schools by introducing photographic and other interactive cultural activities. One child wanted to express the idea of being made out of sand and being happy with it. He made the composition…. I just pressed the button ;-) Inspire children is part of our mission, giving them a voice is our duty… All proceeds from sales of pictures will go to the child art education project of Art in All of Us (WWW.ARTINALLOFUS.ORG) /

I use it to do my stomach crunches and sit-ups. I remembered the movie, “The Professional” and decided to belt myself to the edge of my bed to do my sit-ups, the way Leon did in the movie, until my new stability ball arrived. You think your life is odd… You have 4 seemingly stable dimentions / to go about your shopping in… Based on sketches for a Childrens (+ adult childrens) book I am working on. Created from many pen doodles on reverse side of junk recycled band pamphlets (Snow Patrol – YAWN) from my old job… scanned in and some good old photoshopin’ Enjoy trying to find all the little secrets, enjoy watching your friends scratch there academic heads at this one… Makes M C Escher look like an accountant :P Peace skateboard? /

But I’ve had a creative block for a while, and im getting back into the swing of my old style of phtoography which is reassuring, i thought i’d be stuck doing pretty portraits forever… sigh Anyway i hope you all had an amazing christmas! By the way, no nippleage, I carefully deleted it… hehe… All images are mine, roughly about 9 at least :)

Ink on 120 gsm Cartridge Paper (A4) digitally reversed (one of my first digital experiments) I did this doodle whilst in hospital. I’d had some ‘funny’ heart beats and pains, hence the title. I rocked up at the emergency department of our local public hospital with a huge bag of art materials; ready for a 4-5 hour wait…..but, as soon as I mentioned pains in my chest…..well I didn’t even get to sit down, I was taken straight through and hooked up to all these monitors. So I spent the next 4 -5 hours in a bed (much more comfortable than the waiting room). I’m sure I have ‘Obsessive Creative Disorder’ because I can not stop drawing, creating, painting, doodling…..and no stay in hospital was going to stop me. I’m sure this was the most healing part of my stay as it really relaxes me.
