  • A collage of Skipping Girl taken from a photo I took of a non working neon sign. It’s a great melbourne icon located in Victoria Street and as it doesn’t work I decided to re-inject the colour back into it. This is part of a series of works based around this very cool little sign.

  • Grim Reaper – noun / the personification of death. [Origin: 1925–30] Old Slavic tribes viewed Death as a woman in white clothes, with a never-fading green sprout in her hand. The touch of the sprout would put a human to an everlasting sleep. This image survived Christianization well into the Middle Ages, only being replaced by the more traditional European image of a walking skeleton as late as in the 15th century. Death as a sentient entity is a concept that has existed in many societies since the beginning of recorded history. In Western cultures, death is usually given the name, the “Grim Reaper”, and shown as a skeletal figure carrying a large scythe, and wearing a midnight black gown, robe or cloak with a hood, or sometimes, a white burial shroud. Usually when portrayed in the black-hooded gown, only his eyes can be seen.

  • This was an interpretation of the lyrics to the 1920’s Louis Armstrong song, Black and Blue. Essentially it is about racism and division. The little girl is looking at what she will probably never obtain. / It is a mixture of watercolour, ink, pen and collage.

  • Paper collage. The birth of new ideas.

  • This for you Terez , my lovely daughter , she died when she was nearly 15 …... Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. I loved every minutes of it and it gave me a wonderful peace of mind. / The original is 120cmX100cmx2cm , oil on canvas , SOLD !. / You can see this picture in a nice interior here / Hope you like it…? / Thank you dear ANAISNAIS/Anna-Marie for this beautiful writing here. / TURNING OVER / Clock strikes, / every second my heart stabs / another injection of grief, / as streams wash the contours / rushing the valleys of guise. Memories. / All I behold now you have gone, / besides photographs and diaries. / I stare at you and you are there, / besides me once more. Turning over, / another page lets me slowly learn / to accept this new place in time / where I find myself surrounded / by loneliness and sorrow. This is not, / of course how you would want me to be. / Were you with me now you would hold me, / stroke my face and comfort me. / Loving me, happily. Together, / we have shared these memories, / so many times, turning over, / those beautiful pages of times / roaming through contours of life. I recollect, / how we walked valleys and streams, / where we played, picniced and slept. / Turning over the page you stay with me, / through the treasures we have shared. Now at night / when I’m lonely, in those early cold hours, / turning over I’ll remember and cherish / those beautiful gifts given so freely; / and thank God for the time that you lived. / / /

  • The listless sun deceived our farewell, / boats were leaving like flies, / birds puckered up like toothless mouths / and fell stiff and dead from the heavens. When I was alone under the yellow sky / where my eyes were ripping up rags, / I turned out my pockets / in the hope of finding an exile companion. There was nothing in them / nothing but dust from the roads, / nothing but roads of misery, / nothing but dead queens nailed to wooden beams. (René Daumal)

The brain is the hard drive… the epicentre that drives it all. The ears are our microphones… and our hearts are our bass amps where we feel the sound. One of the greatest joys I can feel is to find a song that touches on such a deep and moving level… thats when the sound travels straight to my heart!! So in reality… the best music machine of all… is us!! Thank You For the Music!! • \ / / Fancy Dress – a mixed media drawing and collage on calico fabric. Her face and arms are the only things drawn, using coloured pencils, pastels, watercolour crayons, marker pens. Her wings are fashioned from tiny white leaf veins The dress and her hair are crafted from felt, the trims are bits and pieces, such as lace, feathers, tiny white pebbles for the necklace and wooden shapes for her shoes peeping out. She has then been enhanced digitally, and this changed the creamy calico to a pink/salmon satin look which i was quite taken with. Christine my friend has inspired me yet again, with all the wonderful magazines she’s just given me, and my old love for cloth dolls has resurfaced…so much so that i tried to recreate a fashionable vintage cloth doll (without all the sewing) and so, i have simply layed one piece over another and carefully transferred it to where i could photograph it and then work on the rest in photoshop. I wasn’t going to load anything new prior to Christmas as thought i’d be fully immersed in family outings and such, but it’s turned out they’ve given me some lovely time to myself and spoiled me rotten….bringing me lunch in the studio and doing all my chores so i can draw! What a delightful little family I have :)
