ONE OF MY FAVOURITE COASTAL LOCATIONS IS ‘BLACK HOLE’ SITUATED NEAR THE SMALL FISHING VILLAGE OF CRASTER,NORTHUMBERLAND. / DURING STORMY WEATHER,THIS SPOT TAKES ON A DRAMATIC ATMOSPHERE,THESE ARE THE CONDITIONS I PREFER TO SHOOT IN,I JUST LOVE ALL THE DRAMA THAT ENSUES.
A rustic wooden fence, with the ocean (North Atlantic) in the background. Azores islands, Portugal.

stairways and stepstones / mother and child / an ocean in paralysed state / rewind and remember / hallowed and heard / white mist descends heaven’s gate distance and memory / valiance and truth / unwoken by smoke or by sand / bridges and troubles / afraid and alone / godless assistance in hand lifeless and bloodstained / abandoned and proud / woes of unrecognised men / footprints and fingers / love and forlorn / the wasting of life at an end —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Location: Auchmithie, Angus, Scotland Copyright © Donald Cameron 2009 / Monophotography.co.uk

I was down at Main Beach last night (passing some time before my choir rehearsal) and captured this eerie image from what is left of the beach. The wild weather last week has completely decimated the sand dunes and beaches along the entire Northern NSW and Southeast QLD coastline. Heavy machinery is being used to shore up the dangerous scarp lines along the dunes and to provide access to the beaches again. Quicken your footsteps / head south for the winter / for a great storm is boiling the sky / shorten your breath / race to gamble a pulse / and fear it doesn’t all go awry Blackened rocks pointing / right into the storm / seen it coming, this tired cliché / yet still you linger / with car crash curiosity / shouldn’t look but you do anyway Rumbling thunder / the patter of water / emotional clouds weep but once more / and with wind growing furious / light growing dim / it batters you down to the floor Soaked to the skin / wet to the bone / for this weather you’re just not designed / so next time you consider / facing up to the storm / please think back and bear this in mind —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Location: Anstruther, Fife, Scotland © Donald Cameron 2009 / Monophotography.co.uk

The colour of the sunrise this morning, 12-10-09, was beautiful. It’s not that often I see a sunrise but the colours I saw coming through my window were too much to pass up. I stood in my pjs and snapped it coming up over Mt Black, there was a cold wind blowing and a few spits of rain as well. Well worth the effort :-) Taken with a Panasonic FZ-18 For more beautiful images of Tasmania please visit RT Gallery
