I took this on a recent trip to Brighton, and got up early so I could catch some cool light, and the dynamics of what was a very rough sea… well… comparitively. Brighton Pier is one of the classic 19th century piers in the UK, amusements on the end, kiss me quick hats for sale and so on… Black and white has given the picture an edge over the colour version….

This was a crack of dawn shot on the North coast of Cornwall. I spent most of the time keeping warm in the car and in the dark. But it was worth the wait. Mowenstow, Bude. Cornwall, England.

This scenic pic is a combination of shots. A composite of four shots. All shots were taken in northern California with my Canon Rebel XT, EOS. My husband loves to feed the birds, and other critters along the coast line. I took shots of him feeding the birds, and I love to take shots of sunsets over the coast. The west coast sunsets are some of the best. I turned it BW and love it best in BW. He loves to stop at sunset for a break so I can shoot, early morning and sunset are my favorite times to shoot.

This is for Mike, one of the weather guys on the Cocos Islands. Everyday we would ask him what the forecast was, and everyday he would reply “Mostly fine, chance of a shower”! Under the pier at Cowes, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia at Dawn. Taken at the same time as Beginning of a new day for something a little bit different. It was pretty chilly, windy and way too early in the morning for me, it’s amazing how much lens distortion you get with a wide angle lens! / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm EF-S. Black glass magic – I had gone on this shoot with a bad attitude, expecting the sky to be bland and the day to be a waste of time, and therefore I set the camera on large jpg so I wouldn’t waste too much computer space….As it turned out, I’ve managed to drag out some amazing results. This is another straight from the camera image, although I had to take it into PS to straighten the horizon…. Canon 5D Mk II, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/10, 90seconds, ISO 50, Hoya NDX400, Singh Ray 3 stop reverse grad, Lee 0.9 ND grad, tripod, cable release, lots of guessing….I should point out the red sky is enhanced by the Singh Ray filter, which seems to put a colour cast across the ND area when used in conjunction with the Lee filter…. - / SEASCAPES / NEW ZEALAND / PEOPLE

Canon 400D Camera + Sigma 10-20 Lens / 80 second exposure @ f8 On the southern tip of Australia you can find this prehistoric anamoly. It is one of only 3 places in the world that does not have any colour. It’s not an easy place to find, but i knew i was getting closer when i noticed that the blue from the sky was turning white, very strange. I was speaking to a local and he told me that they only get colour 3 months of the year, incredible!
