I don’t know that man.He doesn’t talk ,walk ,hear, see…he ’s closed to the world. His wife comes every day, she’s younger than him and I can see a lot of affection in her eyes but everybody knows she has somebody else in her life. She puts a little hat on his head ,cover him with something warm and bring him to the balcony, even if it’s cold outside. One day,at the beginning of my shift,I went to get him for super ,the hat was covering his eyes and since he couldn’t move,he looked like a Mexican taking a nap …I smiled but at the same time I couldn’t help myself thinking how much he must be raging inside cut from the world like this …in fact I WAS RAGING inside for being so helpless toward that man. / posted later …. / He died a few weeks after I took this shot, both hands never openned….....Gigi

Long Beach, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Canada / March, 2008 On a cold and very wet day out on Long Beach, Vancouver Island we made a couple of friends for a moment whilst out with our cameras… happy to check us out whilst we set up our shots, I couldn’t resist turning my attention to them… well they were following us everywhere! We were not quite sure what breed they were.. obviously living wild.. perhaps a bit of wolf in there, who knows… But anyway, this pair of puppies were as cute as… I’m sure if we had permanent residence there, then they would be sat by my feet now! Close up of an African Zebra taken at Buenos Aires Zoo. Probably one of the most interactive and best kept zoos I have ever visited. Animals are looked after quite well, and are being raised in captivity to save them from extinction. The zoo allows a percentage of their profits for conservation of the Argentinian wildlife. While I’m not sure I agree with animals being caged for any reason, it is nice to know that this zoo is here for many reasons, including conservation. Cropped original image and increased the contrast and brightness slightly. Many thanks to Shelly Heibert for creative help with the title for this one! Hate can be shown in various ways and do so all the time. The only way we can stop all the hatred going on I think is to show/help people to be more open minded. Nowdays nothing is longer “new” so the only reason alone why people still has to be such ignorant fools is that they don’t know any better. / This is my take on one way hatred often is shown, on somebody different. To be different suppose to be a good thing. To stand out from the “normal” crowd and mainstream living. Yet so many people is neglected and looked down upon by the very same reason. / To stand out is to be strong. To dare go against the modern society we have today and pursuit his/her way of living. This can be many many ways, gender, skin color, sexuality, dressing, talking etc etc, the list can be made into all eternity. It’s scary how many people still that lacks tolerance and respect/understanding towards new things. / I wonder when the rest of the world is going to have an open mind, if ever… Canon EOS 400D / Sigma 17-70 / F2.8-4.5 / ISO 100 / f/4.5 / 1/4 s / 33mm CS4 for vignetting & levels More works can be found over at DeviantART / and / rdblanche.com

My daughter Abi Nikon D90 / Nikkor 50mm lens She literally was getting annoyed with me taking too much time and leaned against the wall, put her head back and let out a big sigh and I quickly snapped this. She immediately opened her eyes and screwed up her face and said….’Did you just take a picture of me?!. You are wierd mom!’ But I think it works ok :)
