The Tyler Davidson Fountain is a statue located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is regarded as the city’s symbol and one of the area’s most-visited attractions. It was dedicated in 1871 and is the centerpiece of Fountain Square, a hardscape plaza at the corner of Fifth and Vine Streets in the downtown area. It is surrounded by stores, hotels, restaurants and offices. In 2006 renovations were done to Fountain Square and the Tyler Davidson Fountain was removed and then later put back, however it was later moved further up towards 5/3rd Bank. The fountain is turned off each winter and turned on again in April for the first home game of Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds, the oldest professional baseball team. GO RED LEGS!!!

Fractal rendition of a braai fire in Skukuza camp, Kruger National Park, South Africa. Braai loosely translated means barbecue in Afrikaans, a language spoken in South Africa which is derived from Dutch. At this point, most of the fire died down, and the meal was just about ready, but from the corner of my eye I noticed this eerily hand-like formation scorched and sculpted by the fire. Not particularly religious or spiritual, but I do believe it’s incredibly arrogant of the human species to assume that we control the elements. An image like this helps to remind me that Mother Nature has the ultimate Say, perhaps even going out of Her way to Point out how backwards our “civilized” society is by burning up natural resources like there was no tomorrow…

Smoke of essence photographed in the studio, on black background. Highly detailed photograph!
A tribute to Georgia O’Keeffe. One of a series of living flowers and objects captured with a flatbed scanner. No camera was used for this process! I’m using many of Ms. O’Keeffe’s popular specimens and objects and her clear, saturated color palette.

I was recently inspired by the bronze and marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin “The Thinker”. I have been accused of always thinking and Rodins sculpture says it all. I tried to pose to reflect that image but, regardless of how natural The Thinkers pose appears, I found it to be totally unatural. It’s given me an even greater appreciation for the work. Just a sweet small white flower on a black background. Enjoy
