  • A little red wagon is abandoned in a field, with black and white background.

  • I observed this child who was so obviously in a world of her own. An irreistable scene and I was fortunate to be there with my camera. A personal favourite .This image was published in the ‘Ava Guide to Outdoor Photography’ (Thames and Hudson). Dates from 1968

  • From an original oil painting / “Moonrise Over Cachagua” / Alone in the woods, surrounded by trees, wind, spirits, sky…..and heavenly solitude. / On your own, adventuring. Moonrise Over Cachagua (pronounced kaSHAHwa). / A beautiful wilderness with a beautiful name, a mix of Spanish and American Indian. Wild condors, hawks, coyotes, mountain lions, snakes, mists, stars, Buddhist hot springs retreat, the inland Santa Lucia range of Central Coast California. / You go there to lose yourself in the rough terrain, and keep going back when you find yourself. We can find ourselves in the planets and stars, including this one. The Hawks Perch

  • These rusty, squeaky, playthings of youth, brought back fond memories of the schoolyard. They were found in the back of an abandoned school in San Francisco, circa 1989, with Kodak Tri-X film and scanned into Photoshop.

  • Can you feel it? Love and care… I have taken this photograph because I’ve seen a lovely picture of love and care before my eyes… / Two years later I went back to the negative, scanned it (with love and care, of course; here I mean taking care for properly balanced lights and shadows above all, with no important details lost, because the photograph was taken in a room with poor light), made some minor corrections (color curves, desaturated, toned…) and added a frame with text. Can you feel it? Love and care… / / — / This is a version with a frame designed to include the title. For a version without the frame, click here please:

  • Worn Echidna is an extension from the original series of 9 Animal Designs that were 4” x 4” canvas blocks created at end of 2007. Rather than using the selected blue, pink or yellow I’ve chosen a more muted tone with grey and black in acrylics and inks on a distressed photo that I took. The animal design series represents what we could be left with if we don’t take care of nature and all it’s creatures. With their charming toy like appearance, they could just end up like childhood memories.

  • Bonnie Lolita is a shy and reserved girl. Since birth, she has only a few friends. Her parents died in a tragic car accident 2 years ago. Bonnie Lolita was then sent to an orphanage. The children in the orphanage shun her because she looks different and weird. Many did not want to play with her or talk to to her. Bonnie Lolita has been bruised and scarred by many of her life events, this peer rejection reopens those wounds. She constantly asks herself this,”Is there anyone out there who will love and take me as I am?” /

  • In Arizona the temp is up in the triple digits & dry heat or not it’s ridiculously hot to say the very least! We are often in the pool quite a bit as a result. However, the down side is the high risk of skin cancer & various other skin diseases caused by so much exposure to the sun. (even with UV protection) FEATURED in the group You Big Softy

  • Featured in / Tone it Down I was taking pictures of an old country barn and as I walked back to the truck I saw my son Joshua watching me in the mirror and I was able to capture this image of my little country bumpkin in his coveralls. I took this shot in my film days and it needed quite a bit of burning and dodging in the dark room to get a suitable print (what a blessing digital is). Camera: Olympus OM2n / Lens: Zuiko 50mm fixed / Exposure: not recorded / Film: Tri-X
