An old boat sitting safely on the shore at Queenscliff in Victoria, Australia. Kept finding myself going back to this boat to take photos, looked so sad sitting by itself. Black and White conversion in Lightroom, HDR in Photomatix.

A fantastic moody shot of London’s famous Tower Bridge. While it appears ancient, it is actually a product off Victorian engineering, a drawbridge with a pedestrian walkway across the top. It was built to compliment nearby Tower of London. This photo captures London’s moody skies with a splash of sunlight hitting the bridge itself.

Every afternoon on my way home from work I would see that lamp post coupled with the Harbour Bridge and I’d think to myself “That would make for a great shot”. After many months of telling myself that I have to take that shot I finally got off my behind and did just that. I am really happy with what I got. Here are a few categories to take a look at: /

Top Featured Piece Of The Day in the Live, Love, Dream group, 12th Nov, 2008. / Featured in the Rivers, Lakes and Dams group, 12th Nov, 2008. Early one January morning, I got out of bed before dawn and headed in to London and the Thames. I knew where I wanted to get the shot from. I set up the tripod and camera and waited. I hoped the sun would be visible, but had nothing more to base the possibility on other than the sky had been red at sunset the night before. My luck was in!

I missed a fantastic sunset, and an incredibly intense lightning storm. By the time I got to my chosen vantage point, I was left with the remnants of both. © Sara Lamond 2007. Shortly before I left Sydney I realised that I’d never taken a picture of this bridge, so I trudged out there in the rain, camera in hand to take one. / It’s a great bridge, and when every tourist is taking pictures of the coat hanger, me included, it’s nice to go and see it’s understated little brother.

This shot was taken while traveling through the Scottish Highlands, I loved the “wee bridge” and how insignificant it seems against the impressive terrain. The moody clouds also add to the scene and the feeling that this truly is a magic place.

Another excursion from my more normal landscapes, but shows my love of modern architecture. This is a bridge crossing the Yarra in Melbourne. I love the modern architecture in Melbourne. This image reminds meof another William Gibson quote: “A graphic representation of data abstracted from the banks of every computer in the human system. Unthinkable Complexity.” – William Gibson

This is the Mackinaw bridge… This bridge connects lower Michigan to Upper Michigan.
