This is from a series I produced a few years ago in my homemade, primitive yet functional darkroom. Sadly, my enlarger now lives in the bottom of a cupboard :(
Oil on oil sketch paper
Indian woman in the process of dressing -tucking in her sari which consists of silk fabric of about 5-6 metres.
A dancer is frozen mid-leap, hair and dress radiating outwards. Copper and platinum on black.
What we wish for….....
Inspired to create this from my collaborations with Melissa Vowell.

Inspired by Tracy Wallace’s image entitled Clumsy Misfortunes I wondered what would become of the girlclown – would she stay with the circus, never getting enough of the crowd applauding her clumsy misfortunes on stage? With Tracy’s permission, I was able to use her image as inspiration for this image – “all grown up”. Tracy’s image is seen here: Image taken with point&shoot canon, a texture layer was created using ink and sponges onto textured paper then scanned via scanner. this was then darkened in PS, more editing including burning and additional image layers used to create this final version.

self portrait
Self-portrait, 2007. So, i’ve been digging through my endless photo files and came across this piece. Taken in Arizona when i was living there with a friend, after losing my job and getting evicted due to my health taking a rapid turn for the worst. / I had just started gaining weight back (and pretty much stopped here, lol) when i decided to take this shot. / I’m pretty much sick to death of seeing airbrushed photos of women with implants and anorexia and plastic surgery galore…my body is this way because i’m a bloody Real Person – and anybody who gets to see it up close and in person is damn lucky – stretch-marks, skinny arms and all. / My body has gone through so much; childbirth, spinal injury, serious chronic illness – / But i still pretty much dig it.
Somewhat of a sequel to the original “98.6” shirt.
. the day grew dark / and the night spread its wings / to midnight abyss and swallowed constellations the fire in his eye / she sees no more the song his heart sings / she hears no more abyss flows through her blood / and fills her heart . larger view 23/100 for 1000 girls in 100 days / (matt’s topic #4: gothic girl) now i’m only 8 girls behind (for 2 more hours then 9 agian)... : ) . 11.28.2oo9 / pencil on ecru paper / digital / 9”x 12” .
