this gang of Adelie penguins gave me a great opportunity for quite a series of entertaining photographs as they zoomed busily about their icy playground. This photo has become a symbol of connection and friendship among my own personal group of nearest and dearest friends.

Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) with a pocket fuji finepix A500 (There is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) Dedicated to my father who passed away 9/15/08. Ephemeral: Lasting only one day. Lasting a very short time. I created this using various old images I had laying around and played with it in Photoshop. I almost feel like I should have a poem written for this piece, but alas, i am not a writer!
