The frog is an amphibian in the order Anura. Adult frogs are characterised by long hind legs, a short body, webbed digits, protruding eyes and the absence of a tail. Large flocks of Waxwings descend on a single tree in the spring and pick the berries clean. I have read that Waxwings can become drunk eating too many of these berries. Well….. at least I have evidence of that. Next spring I promise a photo of the dignified, sober Bohemian Waxwing…..

Today I went back to my favorite haunt … a bunch of old rusted out cars and trucks … with my new 60mm macro (Nikon). I had a wonderful time getting up close and personal on one old truck that had certainly seen better days, but still had much hidden color and patterns to offer the careful eye thanks to the rusting and peeling paint. I took a series of shots with the 60mm and the 105mm. This one is with the 105mm macro handheld 1/320s f4.5 ISO640 Nikon D90

In Lil’ Bits words… My human female said that some of you had been wondering how I was doing after I almost died and then my surgery. / I got attcked, it happened so fast that all I could think of was my blanket and I just wanted to get home. After I recovered I was taken to a place where i went to sleep and woke up different….well now I think I am just trying to be a Happy Dog. / / I am still soooo afraid of everything… loud noises, humans reaching to pick me up or trying to touch me…I let my human female pick me up and hold me…she knows how to do it so I don’t get scared. / She took me for another ride in the moving place the other day and I LOVE to look out the windows and smell all of the smells. She had to put a thing around my neck and that scared me a little, but I remembered that she puts a long thing with it and we go for a walk in the grass and I just want to smell everything and potty everywhere! / There were other dogs where we went for a walk… but since my surgery I didn’t pay much attention to their smells and I didn’t get afraid. My humans talk to me in soft voices and call me a good boy…I even got some cold stuff out of the cold box the other day after my food…it was SOOOO good and it was like eating happiness. I still hide under my blanket…and then when I peek out my human female takes my picture! / I feel safe under my blanket and it even goes with me when I go for rides in the moving place. Thank you to those humans who wanted to know how I was doing…I am starting to learn that I don’t have to be so scared and try to bite…eating chipmonks and lizards out in the dry, hot place and living in the ground is not where I have to live anymore. / I have a safe place here with my humans and my blanket…and if you can see I am even learning to smile just a little… / I’ll write to you again sometime. / Lil’ Bit (AKA Skinny)
