Words of love and lust
Words of passion and lust.
And if you like this one, I’ve got enough PFLAG southern hospitality for an army of fevered fans of snark…
And I’m Absolutely Baaa-bulous! Let people know that, while you may not be pink on the outside, you certainly are on the inside. Remember, only ewes can prevent florist Friars. If they can’t laugh with you, laugh at them, and laugh at yourself.
Pomosexual (short for Post-Modern) is a term popularized by sex-positive activists and writers Carol Queen and Lawrence Shimel in their 1997 Anthology “Pomosexuals: Challenging Assumptions about Gender and Sexuality.” People identified as pomosexuals are attempting to redefine, reassess, and protest current essentialist-bound labels surrounding sexual orientation.
Coming out, or commonly “coming out of the closet,” describes the usually voluntary public revealing of a person’s sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Being “out” is considered the opposite of closeted and usually refers to sexuality and gender minorities – lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people. Being outed refers to having this information revealed, often without consent. Outing is the process of deliberately disclosing the sexuality of another who wants to keep this aspect of themselves private. The term gay was originally used, until well into the mid-20th century, primarily to refer to feelings of being “carefree,” “happy,” or “bright and showy”; it had also come to acquire some connotations of “immorality” as early as 1637. The term later began to be used in reference to homosexuality, in particular, from the early 20th century, a usage that may have dated prior to the 19th century. In modern English, gay has come to be used as an adjective, and occasionally as a noun, that refers to the people, practices, and culture associated with homosexuality. By the end of the 20th century the word gay was recommended by major style guides to describe people attracted to members of the same sex. At about the same time, a new, pejorative use was visible in some parts of the world. In the UK, US and Australia, this connotation, among younger generations of speakers had a non-sexual derisive meaning equivalent to rubbish or stupid (as in “That’s so gay.”) / The Rainbow flag or Pride flag of the LGBT community (also known as the gay pride flag) is a symbol of LGBT pride and LGBT social movements in use since the 1970s. The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, and the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride in LGBT rights marches. It originated in the United States, but is now used worldwide. Designed by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978, the design has undergone several revisions. As of 2008, the most common variant consists of six stripes, with the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The flag is commonly flown horizontally, with the red stripe on top, as the colors would appear in a natural rainbow. My Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. All images are copyright © taiche. This t-shirt subverts the current usage of the word ‘gay’ to mean something bad, by using it to challenge homophobia against lesbian, gay and bisexual people. It started life as a DYMO label, which I scanned and adapted to make the t-shirt. I turned it into a vector image, then created the t-shirt template design from that. See also: /
Originally an Artist Trading card, I did the background with watercolours, rubber stamped musical notes, and then beaded the whole rainbow. Then I photographed the card and digitally manipulated it to create this design.
A t-shirt for those of us who the right-wing paper has complained about – gay people, asylum seekers, Europeans, feminists, anarchists, general subversive lefties, and many more!
Courtesy Wikipedia here Gaydar is a portmanteau of gay and radar and refers to the intuitive ability to assess someone’s sexual orientation as gay, bisexual, or straight. The function of gaydar relies on usually non-verbal sensory information and intuitions. These include the sensitivity to social behaviors and mannerisms; for instance, acknowledging flamboyant mannerisms, overtly rejecting traditional gender roles, a person’s occupation and grooming habits. The idea of gaydar is complicated by gay people not acting in a stereotypically “gay” fashion; also by metrosexual men (regardless of sexuality) who seem to have heightened aesthetic senses and exhibit a lifestyle, spending habits and concern for personal appearance close enough to the stereotype of a fashionable urban gay man. ABC News’ 20/20 reported that gaydar does exist but it may work better for gay people and those who pay attention to issues around sexual orientation because they have more invested in knowing if someone was or was not gay. Two women showing two distinct faces of pleasure. Both experiencing intense feelings, but expressing them in different ways. You might see an uncanny resemblance with the girl on the right to Shane from Showtime’s “The L Word”.
