...and she bakes! :P White Chocolate Star Cookies ½ c butter/marg / ½ c caster sugar / dash of vanilla extract / ¾ c white choc melted / 1 egg, beaten / 2 cups plain flour# / ½ teaspoon baking powder so you cream the butter and sugar, add the vanilla and then mix in the melted choclate well before adding the egg. / then sift flour and baking powder. / wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate for 30 mins. / roll out to about 5mm thickness. #i found i needed more flour to work with as the stars i cut weren’t keeping their shape. plus it was humid, so you might need to add some more, no need to knead it (!), just get it happening and workable. bake in preheated 180° oven for 15 mins, or until golden. decorating: / i just dipped half in some melted white (and milk) chocolate, and then sprinkled, 100s & 1000s, coconut, drinking chocolate. you could also try chopped nuts, crushed toffee, all sorts of things. be sure to fire up your baking paper piping bags!

Famous and loved by the locals.. I always go for a visit when I am in Old San Juan , Puerto Rico . this place is famous for only men attending yu :) woooooo hoo!.. AND for the mallorcas.. and a mallorca is simply puertto rican bread grilled .. while hot , they squish it and sprinkle powdered sugar on it.. and serve with fresh butter….. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. A Puerto Rican Sunday morning institution, La Bombonera offers huge mallorcas and other baked items. It’s a well-kept secret, however is its ability to prepare excellent meals consistently. La Bombonera attracts huge crowds on weekends. Be sure to try the Puerto Rican coffee. Housed in an historical building, this operation’s colonial décor provides for great atmosphere and a chance to mix and mingle with the locals.

This image was created in my shortbread tin camera / This was a 25 minute exposure and I tried to exclude the outside light coming through the glass door.
As a lot of you will probably know; I didn’t come up with the original idea behind this one. I remember seeing one of those emails that does the rounds a few years ago which had a fairly badly produced version of it. This was drawn in Freehand MX (not traced) then Photoshoped a bit. Detail: /

Yellowstone National Park, USA. / I think maybe that when you visit Yellowstone, it feels like you are on another planet, nothing seems for real ! / The colours and ‘scapes are outlandish, like Mother Nature flipped out ! Weird and wonderful ! / It can be difficult to photograph – the wind was blowing the hot steam towards me very often, fogging up the lens, making everything very wet, not good with those electronics ! / ( I was told that the moisture from the steam can actually etch the lens, so be warned !) / The other problem is folk passing by making the boardwalk bounce around, shaking the tripod…......LOL !! / Fall is a great time to visit, a bit crowded, but those colours really zing out, and the steam is intensified by the cold Autumn air. / Oh to be there in Winter….............. Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, hand held, f13, 1/90 sec, at 49mm, iso 100, auto wb, polarising filter, RAW file, processed in PS CS3, levels/curves, selective colour adjustments, finished with LAB colour and Intellisharpen. Everyone’s favourite sugar addict finally has his number one vice catch up with him.
.Please Read this. This really was a special moment for me. I never knew that Lenti and the other children in this village had never seen a Biscuit/cookie before. She looked at it for almost 3 minutes and only began to eat it when she saw a member of our mission staff eat hers. Lenti is a precious little girl who was very ill when she came to our Mission Centre. Medicines alone just could not save her life. We prayed and trusted God to heal her and he did. We provided lots of Love and High Protein biscuits/cookies and Multi-vitamins, provided by you, whom we and the Lord depend upon. This gives me so much joy and drives me even harder to raise the funds to save and bless many more like Lenti. / My Passion and inspiration is God given, and although I lack Finances, it has never stopped me blessing these children. As St. Luke (who was a physician) said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, ...” / +Luke 4: 18 + This is a success story and with your help we can make many more success stories. I invite you to visit my Charity Mission Website: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ British Charity Commission [Reg No: 1049410] PS: The Medicines that many of you Sent to Brother Michael has now arrived at our Mission Center.
