  I have been inspired to jot a few lines down yet again when I saw this beautiful picture from CarrieGlenn brilliant collection and again like a lot of work on RB, I absolutely fell in love with it. It has a mysterious beauty about it a natural innocents. It is almost as though Carrie puts a part of herself into her art with every brush stroke she lays on canvas or with every manipulation she makes in a creative Photoshop package. And I could go on and on writing but these short few lines is enough for now. It started my mind off on yet another writing journey and this is the combined efforts from Carrie and me.   On the recent occasion of my mother’s 8Oth birthday My sister [the eldest of the mob] was the one to deliver the eulogy ….. er …. speech! :O) I was having a hard time thinking of anything to mark this occasion and pay tribute to my mother and all she means to me to post in here as I have for my father. For me my mother is both my saviour and my antagonist. It was easy to encapsulate my father and I realise it is because I could … where as my mother is not so easy to put in a nutshell! I know her so much better and I have so much to love her for [and loads that has annoyed me!] Thankfully my sister’s speech said it all and I have asked her for a copy so I could post it in here and keep it for my own treasure! I am my mother’s daughter in so many ways both irritating and honouring. / Where I want to be like my father I am ….. / but I am who I am because my Mum loves me for whatever I am!

  I wrote this on March 09, 1993. My mind was being flooded at the time of news from the television and/or radio about innocent children who were killed by stray bullets during gang fightings. Not just children either, but innocent adults too. I remember feeling scared, and not because I was anywhere close to the areas of the shootings, but because I have 5 children and I began to feel vulnerable.
