Balloons!

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

If you look closely (in the “large” view) you’ll notice that some of the black spots are actually ants. Summer 2007 – Rotterdam, NY / One of my girlfriend’s parents purchased a home that was owned by a Master Gardener and neither of them gardened. They asked me to come and tell them what their plants were, thin some out and feel free to photograph them. After a few hours, I had enough plants to fill half my garden and had filled up my photo cards, not to mention I couldn’t help but trim one of their trees while their backs were turned. I’ve only seen this Oriental Tigerlily at this garden and one other – both having been planted by Master Gardeners. I didn’t have the heart to dig any of them up. I had to lay on my back to shoot this as the blooms point downward.

Spring has finally arrived… the flowers are blossoming, the weather is warming and the little fairies are coming out to play!! There are rules regarding food at kids parties! Grab the brightest and messiest stuff you can find, mix in a whole bunch of sugar and preservatives, and, where possible, put several items into your mouth at one time. If you can mix sweet and savoury together, then all the better. This shirt celebrates the junction of two great party foods: Fairy Bread and Hot Dogs. It’s the FAIRY DOG. Go on, I know you want one. EXTRA NOTES: A fairy dog says “happy birthday” just as much as champagne says “congratulations”. Eating fairy dogs brings back your youth. Fairy dogs are the national dish of Partistan. While fairy dogs are fine with tomato sauce (ketchup), they should never be consumed with mustard. That’s just gross. If you are celebrating a very important and formal occasion, this recipe may be altered slightly by replacing the “hundreds & thousands” (pretty coloured sugary sprinkles) with those really posh little sugary silver balls on which you can also break a tooth.

/ I used candlewax, few different sized black marker pens, retractable pencils, charcoal white and black, ink and pastels on a small piece of timber to create “Happiness Always”......and that’s what I wish for everyone…. happiness always it could be for a newborn baby, just cheer someone who’s a little sad, or for a birthday ~ wishing someone happiness always is just a nice thing to do any time of the year :)
