  • This Robin almost looked angry when I took the shot.

  • He was a gorgeous little chap and so friendly … I wondered if he’d been hand reared as he always appeared when we arrived and disappeared when other birds were about. / If you look closely you can see flecks of red just starting to grow in his bib!

  • This young duck was so interested in playing even curled up and rested next to you . . . . so sweet

  • Little girl taken at home. Tiny fairy taken at home and created previously. New background, fairies, animals, birds and butterflies and fairy wings all added. Small fairies wings made from leaves. Larger fairies wings made from bees wings. Fairy in background, her wings were made from dragonfly wings. / Snail used with the kind permission of Edith Kangas. When this little girl saw this finished image, she said that she could feel the tingle in her hands from the little fairy. :) / Believe in the magic…....

  • This delightful little chap appeared whilst we were watching reflections in the lake at Portmeirion whilst on the Woodland Walk – he came so close I could have touched him! Luckily we had brought bread for the duck (who didn’t show up) so his beautiful posing was not in vain and he got a large supper for his troubles!

  • My wife and I have been clearing out the back area of our garden from all the weeds and overgrown plants. It is a yearly ritual we do at the end of Autumn / beginning of Winter . Also every year, we have a Robin which comes and waits to get all the worms we dig up. Over the years, he has become more confident around us and gets quite close to where we are. One year, he also brought his little one to teach him how to dig for worms. He has become part of the family, so to speak. This image has been worked in Photoshop CS to create a selective colour image. The original image details are as follows: Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll, / f/6.3 / 1/320 sec. / ISO 800 / exposure bias -0.67 / 28-300mm IS zoom lens

  • Photographed at Healesville Sanctuary, VIC.

  • The European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), or, in Anglophone Europe, simply Robin, is a small insectivorous passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now considered to be an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae). Around 12.5–14.0 cm (5.0–5.5 in) in length, the male and female are similar in colouration, with an orange breast and face lined with grey, brown upperparts and a whitish belly. It is found across Europe, east to Western Siberia and south to North Africa; it is sedentary in most of its range except the far north.

  • Yet another male Flame Robin from the snowgum woodlands surrounding the Victorian alpine village of Dinner Plain within the Alpine National Park. Flame Robins spend the summer months in the high country where there breed moving to lower (and a more temperate climate) ground in winter when the snow sets in. Captured with a Canon EOS450D with a 150-500@500 handheld.
