The wind was blowing so hard as the storm approached. My wife was feeding the seagulls and they were just hovering over us. Made for some really neat shots with the Great Salt Lake and the storm in the background.

This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot, I think. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this.

Black-shouldered Kite (elanus axillaris). I have spent many rewarding and challenging / hours in the great outdoors finding and / photographing some of Australia’s wonderful wildlife. / Here I present a piece featuring a beautiful bird / of prey: the Black-shouldered Kite. I find it a striking bird with its snowy white / feathers and intense amber/orange eyes. / On a couple of occasions I have been able / to get close views of them in the wild. He is one of two rare white and 3 black Ravens born to 2 accepting (black) parents. The two rare birds are not albino which is what makes them so unusual. Their eyes are quite blue. All 5 siblings are getting along extremely well and all are thriving. White Ravens are very rare and hold sacred meaning for many groups and cultures throughout the World, including Native American Indian, Celtic, Norse and Wiccans. This artwork is another tribute to these remarkably intelligent and friendly birds. 50% proceeds from all sales go to the Mountainaire Avian Society in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.
