2500+ views, 33 faves. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot and the sense of innocence. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. The wind was blowing so hard as the storm approached. My wife was feeding the seagulls and they were just hovering over us. Made for some really neat shots with the Great Salt Lake and the storm in the background.

/ / / original pencil drawing ...stayed up very late drawing “Nature’s Child”... you know when it’s time for a baby to be born, i think it’s very similar with art… the inspiration just comes when it’s ready…and sometimes that means drawing til 3am like i did with this one. ...the drawing took about 3 hours, and the digital colouring took about 5 hours today. ...inspired by some fantastic eyes i’ve seen lately, (drawn by people on RB) and the dear little willy wagtails…they are so cheeky…they aren’t authentic in colour here, because they are always black and white with little markings above the eye…but i have put their essence into the work hopefully. I think this is my favourite so far :) /

This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul.
