  • FUSIONartPHOTOGRAPHY.com Feature artist for the GROUP:EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY and EDITING. This creation is about my return to Melbourne after eight exciting and event filled years living in Japan and China . Regular trips home to see family and friends had not really prepared me for that emotional roller coaster ride that many experience after the conclusion of an overseas assignment. / Initially, when living in countries where the language is foreign ,one delves deep inside oneself and adjusts by becoming more observant to compensate. The experience is beyond description. / Upon returning home ones’ city has become a mystery. Eye contact/ a smile meant so very much in the re-adjustment period as after such a long period away ,one really belongs nowhere and maybe the heart will always now remain in 3 places and so we have “Mysterious Melbourne” / “ A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” / Essence of Ancient Wisdom/ Asia

  • This sky blue Indian Ringneck Parakeet had an inquisitive personality which we felt this picture captured beautifully.

  • This eagle was actually in a tree right on the Lowell/Snohomish River Rd, between Everett and Snohomish Washington. I was pretty much right under him. Notice the claws. This is the first time I have gotten a photo showing such definition of his claws and front.

  • In keeping with the theme of people’s propensity for initials, I’m adding this male Eastern bluebird to my gallery for all those who have loved ones whose names start with B and who just happen to love bluebirds: Bonnie, Betty, Barbara, Billy, Bob, Bobby, Bertha, Beth, Benjamin, Benny, Ben, Barry, Bruce, Bianca, Betsy, Briannon, Bethany, Beverly, Blane, Brad, Bret, Brooke, Brenda, Bobbi. And here’s a possible sentiment for the inside of the card: B is for bluebirds and B is for you: beautiful, big-hearted, benevolent, broad-minded, brilliant!

  • The Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) is in the Hawk and Eagle Family. This bird hovers frequently; often flies grasping a fish in its talons. Nest is a mass of sticks topping dead trees, platform on osprey pole, or navigational buoy. His habital is coastal estuaries, rivers and lakes. Most common along coastal waterways. This image was taken at Ding Darling Wildlife Sanctuary on Sanibel Island, Florida with my Nikon Coolpix P80 Camera.

  • The Carolina wren is among my favorite birds. I love the way it holds its tail straight up in the air and the way it sings so loudly. You’d never expect such a tiny bird to be able to belt out the songs it does! I also like its scowl; it always appears to be grumpy about something. A little bird that’s big on personality, that’s for sure. Another thing I like about wrens is the way they build tiny igloo type nests inside potted plants like ferns and such. I’ve often watered ferns and was almost hit in the face by a fleeing wren. When something goes awry, like a snake showing up where it doesn’t belong, they sound a warning. If ever you hear a wren chirping loudly and complaining incessantly, you’d better check things out; it’s probably trying to point out some danger. This little wren was sitting on the wall of my patio looking for something to nibble on. He gave me all of two seconds to snap his photo and then he was off like a jet.

  • I just love Carolina wrens; they are perky and bursting with personality. This one seemed to be saying, “Chin up!” Makes me cheerful just to see him. The Carolina wren is known for its jaunty little poses, its upright tail, its distinctively long white eyebrow, and most of all its LOUD song! This little bird can belt out some tunes! Their movements are rapid and erratic and unlike some songbirds that linger at the feeders, the Carolina wren usually is very hasty about getting its grub and leaving abruptly which makes it hard to photograph as a result. Though they have occasionally made nests in nesting boxes, they seem to prefer hanging baskets for their domain. They build little igloo-like dwellings lined with soft mosses and lichens cleverly concealed within a fern or other such plants. Usually, the first time I notice their presence in one of my hanging baskets is during a routine watering when the wren comes charging out of hiding, sometimes barely missing my head! A cute little neighbor all around!

  • …..birds look like they’ve got it all figured out. This is just my emotions in pixels: art born of selfishness, I guess. Or maybe self-control? I won’t know until this day is over and dreams come again. Corel Painter Essentials 4. Cross-posted from Robbegami
