Won the White…White…White Challenge in the group “You’re Accepted” in August 2009 Won the THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TAIL FEATHERS Challenge in the group “I love Birds” in May 2009 The White Peacock, contrary to popular belief is not an albino, because its eyes are blue, not pink. The white is a color mutation, and although it can carry other genes, such as the blackshoulder and white-eyed, they are not visible because of its completely white color. Males are, as their name implies, completely white. Faint eyespots can be distinguished in the train by a thin layer of off white that surrounds the ocelli. The actual seeing eyes of the birds are blue.It is speculated there may be a few white peafowl bred naturally in India. White was one of the first variations to be discovered and made popular, and has been around for many years. This was taken in the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden, Bogotá, Colombia.

A shot I took at a little parc for children.I was with my grand-children and the parc was already closed when that peacock decided to open his tail…for the first time in my life I saw the splender of that special bird.

Originally I thought this was an albino peacock…But have done some research and come up with this – “The White Peacock is frequently mistaken for an albino, but it is a colour variety of Indian Blue Peacock.” It was a very magestic bird and beautiful to see him fan his tail feathers. Taken in Perth, WA. Taken in Perth WA with a Canon 5D & 100-40mm Canon L Series lens @400mm, 1/320th sec, f5.6 ISO 200. Watercolor, gouache and pencil on board, / 11×14 / 2009 Model: Kambriel One of my latest passions is the symbolism of the peacock, and how it has been associated to immortality and renewal. His feathers were used as talismans and protection against evil spirits. In the Eastern traditions it has been seen as symbols of wisdom, benevolence, compassion and kind-heartedness. The “eye” in the peacock feather is associated to the pineal gland, making of it a sacred symbol. Through the development of the pineal gland one can awake the Kundalini and achieve understanding of the spiritual world.

18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul.
