I know that in an artistic sense this is quite simple, however to me it has great meaning. The image is of my two boys who are also the best of friends. They have an unbreakable bond and here, they are doing something they love; just being together.
I’ve updated and played with my original version of this one, which you can find here / There’s much more going on here with extra layers, drawings and I’ve drawn some text too. / Hope you like!

16”x24” Mixed Media (Airbrush and Ink) She looked through to her past, remembering, contemplating, holding it close to her. One day…she looked deeper…deeper still and she knew it was time to let it go. She released her past…and watched as it flew far away from her…to it’s own future…to it’s own place wild, open and free. Having let it go…she is now free, having looked through the past and on to the future. – By Carrie Glenn / Inspiration and background courtesy of Lord Michael Gatch Featured in Out of the Past / (Thanks Jerame and Michael) Featured in Surrealism / (Thanks Hop Helen and Marison ) Featured in All Things Poetic, Prose, Philosophical / (Thanks Susan) Featured in Northwest Artists / (Thanks EllieWinds) Featured in The Healing Journey / (Thanks Julie) You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

Taken at Monsalvat in Eltham, Victoria, Australia. I couldn’t resist this approach as the old house begged for treatment and a dark and moody atmosphere. Hadn’t been here since I went there for a wedding as a young child, this approach to the image is sort of what I remember the place being like! HDR from 3 exposures in Photomatix, Adobe Lightroom conversion to Antique Light and then birds added in Adobe Photoshop CS3. [portrait taken in Natural Light] : 16/11/2008 [AS IS] I was walking from one village to the next, in Remote Nigeria. one of the team noticed this young girl following us for some time. I stopped and spoke to her through an interpretor. We learned that she was 13 years old and caring for three younger Sisters. As she told us here story, I Felt compelled to return to her village. There we met her three younger sisters in the most extreme poverty. Both Parents were dead and no other living relatives. We spoke to the village Chief and the elders who pleaded with us to help the family. We did, as God lead us to and blessed her with clothing, and the following day we sent two of our field workers to meet with her and now they have a small regular income from our mission funds. UPDATE 5-8-2009. Mary is now at School. We pay her school fees adn her three younger sisters are well and happy. We need help with Susan, aged 9. She wants to go to school also. We need help with school fees, uniform adn text books. Can you help? will you Help? This started out an a plain infrared image of the tree….. I may have gotten a little carried away because I just counted the layers and there were 15! The tree is in Edgeworth, Newcastle, NSW, near a new housing estate. It may be familiar to those of you who have been watching me for a while. I often like to go and visit this guy…hopefully he will be there for a while longer.
