This is a pic taken on 30.12.2007 at the delta of river Soca in Italy. Here is the natural reserve of “Isola della cona” which is one of the best palces for birdwatching in Italy and maybe in Europe. More than 300 spieces of birds live here plus wild horses Camurage and a lot of other animals. Is a wanderful place. I discovered another fine shooting location inside the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. I set up before dawn and waited, and was rewarded with this spectacular view of the sky and it’s reflection in the still water. The wading birds cooperated nicely! Featured in All Countries~Wetlands, Ponds, Lakes, and Rivers I woke very early, and headed with my all my gear to a marsh not far from my place that has provided me with many photographic subjects. I was not to be disappointed with my lack of sleep, and the chill in the early morning air. Red-winged blackbird songs created a symphony of sounds, as the birds began their feeding, hopping from one lily pad to the next, finding grubs on the tops and often on the bottoms as they lifted the large leaves. Most of the action required that I shoot into the sun. I was not expecting great shots, but one or two captured the scene the way I witnessed it. In this shot a female is standing “ankle deep” in a pool of rain water on the surface of a large floating water lily, just as the sun is breaking the horizon and sending first beams of light onto this magical world. The Cornell University Ornithology site provides much information about the red-winged blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus), including its calls, on the excellent website. Nikon D300, Nikkor f4 600 mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter on a Gitzo 1325 tripod. Image captured about 20 kilometres west of Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, Canada.
Early morning light cast a yellow hue across the lawn and thus I grabbed the camera and snap, snap, snap.

image captured in rye, victoria very early on a cold june morning / it was a very beautiful moment in time for me… the cormorant sat here for some time perhaps trying to warm itself in the small amount of light making its way through the morning fog… or even looking for some breakfast… in anycase it was quite the magical moment… this image is a hand printed silver gelatin print that has then been blue toned / the actual print is on 205×255mm paper / image itself measures at 155×155 mm / i have tried to keep this image as close to the original as is possilble, so this is a straight flatbed scan no adjustments aside from dust removal in PS

A lone snowy egret flies low over dew covered dunes on the edge of a large salt marsh, looking for a place to settle in for the morning and hunt. This particular salt marsh is one of my favorite places to shoot at dawn on Cape Cod. The creek that runs through it empties out into the Nantucket sound, and contains a large amount of fish, crustaceans and mollusks, making it a great feeding spot for many shorebirds. I watched the weather turned stormy with excitement and decided to charge up the batteries in the camera for a full days photography. I hadn’t a plan I just wanted to get out of the office. / Just outside of Waddesdon, Bedfordshire, UK / there was this symmetrical tree. It still had foliage on it in a green leafy field which looked so surreal I had to take a photo of it. Then I had a play with it, oops. I hope you like it. Framed Print / Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/10, 1/400 sec, ISO 250. No filters used. Dust and scratches removed in PS and a Hue & Sat on the tree to make it a brighter red.
