Dear William; Well honey its been 9 days I have been down here in the submersible, I’m studying the dolphins this month. I wish you were here to see them all interacting, its just amazing. They dont seem to be bothered with my presence anymore. / Ive been studying these beautiful creatures daily and the team wants to test their certain abilities and game behavior. We placed large cubed objects on the floor of the ocean to which they could be tested for long extended periods of time. It didnt take long until they did accept the objects, or even the lights going on when they entered them. Our little friends appeared to love this one in front of me the most and are joyously entertaining themselves daily with little games like, who can could turn through the cube the quickest. The elders are less likely to join in but remain near by. Perhaps their knowledge of such non sea elements are considered a breach of territory or considered a possible threat. / Well I better get back to work….Talk soon! / . / . / . / Journal Entry: June 12th, 2012 / Day 9…. / Quadrant 8 / Subjects: Ling’s Pod / Time: 2:34pm / Grouping: Ling’s pod has remained since dropping the cubes. No other pods have appeared. / Territorial Issues: Ling appears watchful of outside interference, even small fish / Flashing Light Reactions: Adults still unsettled, young adults intriqued / Gaming: The young adults appear most engaged while others try but end quickly, still unsure why / Emotional Stress: None at this time / Time of Cubing Interactions: Mostly between 10am & 4:40pm, seems feeding schedules counter the play activity. ©2007 Lisa C. This shot recently recieved 2nd place, out of nearly 3000 entries in a February ‘08 contest on another photosite. So now we can reveal how we did it. This is actually three separate shots of the same female Calytpe Anna hummingbird in three different positions as she hovered to approach and land on the feeder. I layered each shot over each other, aligned the feeder, masked & blended each layer to expose each bird and merged them all into one image to give the appearance of three separate hummingbirds lined up at the feeder. on my way to the art show …I was in a sad mood …don’t know why just sometimes it hits like that….anyway as I was driving I went over the bridge and a flock of birds flew over the water ....it was early morning and the moon was still out as parts of the sun were waking up …and I though how beautiful it would be if they could lift me fly me to wherever i could feel happy ….silly thoughts but the sence seem to boost me for the day…. i have a few more of these and I am calling them my daydreams series pastel and ink on wood panel 14”x14”
this simple media piece…I don’t think I used but paint and pencil in this one…..was painted as a LOVE of mine….a projection of mine. His reflection…. one of solid presence projecting strength balance care space truth…..holder of HOME. Like I said, he WAS for me to see these qualities in myself. Now I can thank him. It has taken me some time….. From his heart flowers emerge to greet meet so sweet …from his head hand reaches to stars….is he from mars…..since he spoke so often of the wars….of the sexes….mind vexes….or maybe it’s ‘cause I’m from Texas? The distance definitely sweetens this dream…...

Capture this snowy white egret landing on Venice beach, Florida to go fishing. At one time, the beautiful plumes of the Snowy Egret were in great demand by market hunters as decorations for women’s hats. This reduced the population of the species to dangerously low levels. Now it is protected by law, under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, this bird’s population has rebounded. / Canon 5D mark ll / canon 400mm / ISO 250 / 1/640 f 7.1 CP filter /

Cattle egrets, herons, whatever they are called! Taken from my backyard in Innisfail and edited in PS.
I love to photograph great blue herons. I found this one at a marshy area in the estuary of the Fraser River in south west British Columbia. The autumn leaves make a nice background to the beautiful blue feathers of this magnificent bird. The image was captured using a Nikon D700 and Nikkor 600 mm lens on a monopod. I used the following settings on the camera: ISO 800, -0.67 EV, f10, 1/1000s. The image was processed with Lightroom 2.4.
