Photographic based digital montage 2007 (1 from series of 6 – redesigned from 2004/5 Japanese Series) I shot the tree, flowers, roses, birds, combined them in P/S with drawn elements & filtered the lot. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. The lot 60×60cms are printed on canvas gracing the walls of my home.

On the 12th day of May 2008 I witnessed (along with thousands of others) a perfect circle in the form of a rainbow around the sun at about noon-time at a beautiful place in the Philippines. Completely perplexed, stunned and amazed at this extraordinary and divine sight, I HAD to create this artwork. Im not sure where you were or what you were doing at this same moment of time but I guess this is all we have. Small pigments of time all squeezed together. And if we’re blessed enough, we get moments like these and realise even for a second the gravity of God’s love. There were no photo’s taken at the time and all I had available to me was the memory of this moment… The moment my heart burned. Print available. / Vector digital art created in illustrator.

I was at the local Duckpark again, hoping to catch the Brown Pelican I have seen there a couple of weeks ago. The Pelican was not there, but I take this shot as a trade off. I was trying to use the settings Marvin Collins has given us recently, my shutterspeed should have been just a little higher than the 1/400th I used. I wished that the eagle’s face would also have been illuminated by the sun. Ok, so after a few excellent suggestions, I used the dodge & burn technique on it’s head and wings. I like the results better already. Thanks a bunch !!!
