I spent hours with these amazing Birds in south Africa , i spent more time looking at them than taking photos , they are truly amazing birds.
This design is in honor of my flawless little brother, who, when he was 15, finally got into trouble because he and some friends went around stealing pink flamingos out of the neighbor’s yards. He got caught and I have never let him live it down. This is for you, Robbie!

The hazy morning light through the humid Hong Kong air warmed and illuminated these Flamingos in Kowloon Park. / / While photographing these magnificent birds I was able to observe some of their social behavior. While they may look like graceful creatures they have definite social standings and spend a lot of their time squabbling amongst themselves over nothing. Pretty much like people really.
When She Walks She Moves So Fine Like A Flamingo
Beautiful pink Flamingos standing together. Taken on a bright sunny day in Singapore, July 2008. Settings and camera – Canon 5D and 100-400mm lens, f8, ISO 200, AV mode, exposure 2 x stops under to darken background and bring out pink in flamingos. Minor cloning to two areas in background to remove green tree spots.
Taken with a Nikon D70s I got to witness a flamingo bathing this afternoon. I had no idea what an ordeal it was and how beautiful it could be. Quite a lengthy process, that included many beautiful stages. I was lucky to capture a few poses. This is one of them. Cleansing

Caribbean Flamingo (phoenicopterus ruber) having a jolly good splash! He was a bit of a pain as he kept sticking his head under the water (not very elegant) but obviously enough snaps paid off. Birdworld, Surrey, England – 15 April 2009. Canon EOS 5D MkII with Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f/4 handheld
Pink Flamingo’s at Calgary Zoo /
Some people call the Roseate Spoonbill a Cajun Flamingo. Here is a lovely pink lady balancing delicately on a limb at Jefferson Island rookery where there is a large colony of waterfowl in residence during the spring and summer months.
From Wikipedia: The Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) is the most widespread species of the flamingo family. This is the largest species of flamingo, averaging 110-150 cm (43-60 in) tall and weighing 2–4 kg (4.4-8.8 lbs). The largest male flamingoes have been recorded at up to 187 cm (74 in) tall and 4.5 kg (10 lbs).[2]. It is closely related to the American Flamingo and Chilean Flamingo, with which it is has sometimes been considered conspecific, but that treatment is now widely seen (e.g. by the American and British Ornithologists’ Union) as incorrect and based on a lack of evidence. Like all flamingos, this species lays a single chalky-white egg on a mud mound. Most of the plumage is pinkish-white, but the wing coverts are red and the primary and secondary flight feathers are black. The bill is pink with a restricted black tip, and the legs are entirely pink. The call is a goose-like honking.
