Spotted this guy hanging about over the Wexford coastline yesterday afternoon. The wind conditions for this activity were perfect and this guy was not going to miss the opportunity to be free as a bird – for a few hours anyway. Pentax K10D / Pentax 50-200mm zoom set at 50mm / 1/250sec @ f6.7 ISO 100 with polarizing filter.

One day after dropping my son off at baseball practice I went wandering around a nearby park and saw this little family of ducks. It seems that one of the little ducklings didn’t want to go exploring with his siblings, but instead stayed safely underneath the mother duck. Canon Digital Rebel XSI
This is a self portrait that I took just to test out my then new, now old, camera. I was and still am quite surprised at how impressive a shot that a simple “finepix” can produce under the right circumstances.
The Spotted Eagle-owl is a nocturnal hunter, but if found in the day, they can be very confiding indeed (if you can get them to open their eyes) =)
