Met these two chaps on a dreadfully cold day in the Cotswolds on my last trip to England. No idea on the species but they sure do look a pair of characters. You might like friends of these two… /

This is the male.. Our female is a few shades lighter and less brown/red on the breast.. They are around 6 inchs tall and can behave quite shy. This one reacted well to my camo outfit while I acted like a branch in the Apple tree for awhile.. He was curious what the silly human was doing.. hahaha.

The Changeable Hawk Eagle is a medium-large raptor at about 60-72cm in length. It is a relatively slender forest eagle which can vary considerably in appearance (hence the name). This, and also a complicated phylogeny further complicates precise identification. Normally brown above; white below with barring on the undersides of the flight feathers and tail.

This is Elsecar reservoir, taken tonight as the sun was setting, the bird that flew into shot was most welcome, i think it makes the shot, and for once there is no HDR work on this one, just a few tweeks in Photoshop, levels and contrast.

I consider this to be a MASTERPIECE because this certainly is a tough shot to make for sure’ the speed of these birds makes them a differcult subject. The DOF and the composition is good I was very pleased to capture this beautiful bird with that “V” shape to the wings and at the same time looking directly at me as a result I think I caught this Buzzard in perfect timing’ so I personally think this will be extremely hard to beat and in my opinion a awesome capture ! My passion for art starts right here with such an inspiring capture and my love for wildlife this is to me what drives my photography to the edge of perfectionism’ so there for helps me and others to understand what a wonderful planet that we all live and share… There’s room for us all, from animals to man peace I say” and Iet’s pray to God’ It stays that way… Description: This bird of prey, being large with broad, rounded wings, and a short neck and tail. When gliding it will often hold its wings in a shallow ‘V’. It is variable in colour from all dark brown to birds with pale heads and breasts, all have dark wingtips and an unbanded tail. jdmphotography

Wild and born free this was such a amazing site for me to watch this wonderful Kestrel go about his business…...... I certainly was lucky this time to get such a capture of my favourite bird of pray the Kestrel at Snettersham Nr Norfolk England UK. Kestrels have been recently declining as a result of habitat degradation due to continuing intensive management of farmland and so it is included on the Amber List. Kestrels are found in a wide variety of habitats, from moor and heath, to farmland and urban areas. The only places they do not favour are forests, vast treeless wetlands and dense mountains. They are a familiar sight, hovering beside a motorway, or other main road. They can often be seen perched on a high tree branch, or on a telephone post or wire, on the look out for prey. They eat small mammals and birds.

The castle is located in what was once the very volatile border area between England and Scotland. Not only did the English and Scots fight, but the area was frequently attacked by Vikings. The castle was built in 1550, around the time that Lindisfarne Priory went out of use, and stones from the priory were used as building material. It is very small by the usual standards, and was more of a fort. The castle sits on the highest point of the island, a whin stone hill called Beblowe. It can be located in Northumberland,on Holy Island. England.

Barn Owl…..... With heart shaped face, buff back and wings and pure white under parts the barn owl is a distinctive and much loved countryside bird. Widely distributed across the UK, and indeed the world, the bird has suffered declines over the past fifty years as a result of the degradation of once prey-rich habitats in the face of intensive agricultural practices. This decline, fortunately, has halted in many areas and the population may now be increasing. / Where to see them Open country, along field edges, riverbanks and roadside verges. / When to see them All year round; during the day, but best at dusk. / What they eat Mice, voles and shrews
